My brother and I were in town for a little food vacation and we’re disappointed in most of the restaurants. We stumbled on Seafood Sally’s and it was amazing. This is by far the best food in New Orleans right now. They oysters were the freshest I’ve ever had. The pork trotters were fantastic, boiled and fried shrimp were perfect. The cocktails were spot on. Service was wonderful! This will be my first stop next trip and will probably be here everyday of the trip.

Overall I enjoyed Seafood Sally’s but as my vacation went on I had other meals that I enjoyed much more. I stopped by pretty late on a Thursday evening and things were pretty slow.

After much hype, I tried Sally’s. This is a quaint eatery on Oak in Uptown with a quirky, eclectic atmosphere. While the food was good, it wasn’t “the best meal I’ve ever had in New Orleans”. They serve a dark gumbo of which I am not a fan, that said, it was well seasoned with ample crab; however, it was served luke warm which also detracted from the overall dish. I had the grilled shrimp – again, well seasoned and tasty but not served at temp. Their puppies are REALLY good, a savory mix of herbs that I couldn’t quite place. Someone in our party had the head-on shrimp boil that was tossed in a lemon grass butter sauce – it looked very good and I was told was good (all be it messy). We also had their onion rings – obviously hand cut and battered – again, very good. Wine selection is limited but reasonably priced. For dessert we had the key lime pie – and once again, tasty but this time instead of not hot enough, it wasn’t cold enough.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place. Sat at the bar and the staff and co-owner waited on us. We visited on a Monday night, so it was Monday Night Raw. I didn’t do oysters but I dined on some of the fattest blue crabs I have had in a long time. The beef heart tartare special was really tasty too. My wife enjoyed a few cocktails and the key lime pie that was perfectly paired with a liqueur recommended by the bartender.

Super cute place with a great vibe! Happy hour from 3-6 has great deals but we went for regular dinner service and prices were a bit more expensive but the atmosphere was worth it for me. We got to sit on the patio and it was adorable. Shrimp was good, salad was alright, all the staff were extremely nice and attentive. Would be a great date spot!

The staff was very friendly upon entering the gate into a garden and front porch of the restaurant in the Black Pearl neighborhood.

Big Disappointment! I am visiting the area with my family and we decided to order take out. After perusing several menus online, we settled on Sally’s. We ordered 6 meals, 2 appetizers and 2 add ons and spent $234 dollars and gave a $40 tip. We got back to our rental property and discovered that an appetizer was missing and an add on was put into a different box instead of being put with the order that it was added on to or in a separate box. The food was also overly spicy with some expectation because this is New Orleans. Some of it was just tossed because of the spice level. When I called to report it I spoke to Juan who mentioned that he had my missing item and told me where to find the add on. He asked if I wanted to come back for the missing item which I was not going to do. And why not pack the bag using the receipt as a pick list which has built in quality assurance. Never again would I order from this establishment and their only fix was to refund the missing and poorly packaged item. On top of it all, the meals were mediocre at best. If you are looking for a wonderful meal while visiting New Orleans, please go somewhere else.
