This place is amazing. Online order went thru before it should have been but the lady was super nice and offered me a refund or I could wait. I’m so glad I waited. This is seriously some of the best food I’ve had in awhile and great customer service!

Family atmosphere for sure. The young server, King was superb. Burgers and fries, fresh! Veggies were salty, rice was cold and gravy was on everything. Tastes like jar gravy. Cornbread was hard and rice tasted old. Disappointed. Our 1st time here. Consistent traffic for a Sunday afternoon though.

I came to Columbia with family for vacation this week, after visiting the Flea Market we wanted some Soul Food… Been eating Waffle House and Barbecue all week and it was time for some down home southern comfort food… We all agreed to try this place and it’s AMAZING!! The young brother that took our order was the BEST. That young fella was raised right, he was very respectful, welcoming and from the looks of it he was running the joint.. I was so impressed I had to give him a tip… Now the Food, you cab tell was made with soul and love… The oxtail were nice and tender, the gravy was savory, the Mac n cheese was just right and the greens were the best I’ve had in a long time.. I had a taste of the banana pudding and it was perfect… They made use feel at home, the staff was welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be back when I co e back to SC….This place is a gem… I highly recommend this restaurant…. Thank you for such a wonderful experience

My husband and I visit were in town from Atlanta visiting our family. The reviews sold is to try this soul food place. We got there and it’s a hole in a whole with gospel music playing. Great atmosphere but I’m no dummy. I’m a NC native and this is not no real soul food. First off the wait was ridiculous, 43 mins was our wait time. The sides were canned (the collards and the Yams). The rice taste like Uncle Bens 90 sec microwaveable bag and it was hard. The gravy taste like the jar gravy. Just like the name say Seasoned with soul, it was seasoned well but not homemade. Our tot came to $44. We will not return back to this location. Very disappointed

As a business owner, I feel compelled to share with my other owner’s the necessity to maintain a constant level of professionalism, although the food was good, (the rice was not the best) having kids as the face of your business may not be the best sistuation. I’m all for starting them young but there has to be a face and personality that can interact with your customers. Your price point is good, you will pay this or more if you were to go to lizard thicket or any other soul food spot, the difference is the adult presence. Pls understand that from reading your reviews I’m not the only one who thinks this way.

I got the dinner with 2 sides. The meat was well-seasoned. I got the fried swai fish, rice and gravy, and macaroni. The macaroni was horrible because it was only macaroni, cheese, and butter. There wasn’t any creaminess to it and no flavor. The gravy wasn’t flavored but taste like it was from a jar. I was expecting so much more from a soul food restaurant.

Me my mom and sis n law ate here yesterday after visiting my baby and the food was everything was so good especially the liver was so tender and the young lady was very courteous. The atmosphere was like sitting at home. They deserve more than 5 stars and we definitely will be back!
