I had the chicken and lamb over rice, and the meats were fresh, incredibly juicy, and far from being dried out. The overall taste was nothing short of extraordinary. While I’ve frequented Shah’s at various locations in New York, this particular spot outshines every halal cart I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying in my entire life.

Having lived in NYC my whole life, I sometimes miss those gyro trucks all over the city. NJ usually doesn’t have these so I was excited to try shahs halal food. We got combo platters which are $10 and is a generous portion. I wish the chicken was cut a little smaller but it was tasty. They also have a little salad bar which had chickpeas and hummus and their sauces are pretty good too. The hot sauce isn’t too hot and the green chutney sauce is awesome. I would go back here for sure.

Tried shahs for first time and I was actually impressed with the taste of the food. And not that expensive too. Had a mix of chicken and lamb and full of proteins and rice . Chicken was nice and spicy . Their spicy sauce is awesome . We bought a couple for home . Lamb was ok . Quick service . Overall a good experience…

This place is by far excellent, they are a family owned business from NYC. I never had a Platter w fish so I was curious to try it. Their food is so delicious and I enjoyed the salad which was different from other Platters I tasted. I feel like I’m going to be addicted. I realized the best time to go is during the week earlier, because it was a PAIN coming here for the first time. It was so much traffic getting here but once I got the food it was worth it. Go support these guy’s very nice people, they didn’t even charge me Xtra for the sauce, the prices are very reasonable, and very grateful to have you there. The only thing is missing is Tabbouleh salad that I love to put on my Platter’s.

After having a horrible experience at another place I finally came to the place I know and love. Ms. D made my lamb gyro and made it with love. It was so good. I like extra sauce so between the white, green and hot sauce my gyro was flavorful, juicy and filling. This is the best Halal hands down and I will NOT mess up again trying another place…

Food is great here for the price. However the counter service people could improve. The guy is useless, doesn’t listen to anything you say. He put the tiniest 2 scoops of meat (lady actually gives you the right serving as she’s done a good job before), when I ask for extra protein, he charges me double extra, $4 more instead of $2, don’t care it’s only $2 but when I told him I only asked for extra protein why did you charge me double he starts arguing with me saying I asked for double. You think I don’t know what I just said 20 seconds ago? I asked that’s it? to your small portion, ok give me extra protein. If you didn’t hear, you should probably ask your customer did you say double or just extra instead of arguing at the counter. I asked for the onions over the meat and he just shoves a scoop on the side of everything… Not that difficult to provide were the customer asks for. I’ve also stopped ordering over the phone when I’m on the road because they only make the food when you get there… The whole point of ordering ahead to avoid waiting…

I really enjoyed the food. The fries are on point. I would definitely come back and try other things on the menu. I ask for extra white sauce because most places put just a little, but I’ll probably order regular next time because it felt like a little too much. Good spot
