I first tried Shake Shack in Chicago and forgot that there was a restaurant in Birmingham. I mean , the food i decent but nothing to scream about. The restaurant is extremely busy and crowded,certainly on Saturday when I visited. Just another burger joint to me. Customer service was however decent and pretty fast.

Myself, my brother-in-law, and my two nephews ate here. The atmosphere seemed nice, and the service was fine. The food left something to be desired however. Two of us had a burger, want a chicken sandwich, and one chicken tenders/nuggets. The fries were standard. Nothing special. The burger I had seemed adequate. I’ve had better at McDonald’s or Burger King though. My brother-in-law found the chicken tenders to be greasy. For $70 I expected better. I wish we’d gone to five guys or even McDonald’s instead. Not a horrible experience, but not one I will be repeating. Just disappointing.

Went in and there was people in line that took forever to order. I’m thinking someone new must be working. Nope. We order quickly. Had to wait 50 minutes to get our food (4 hamburgers, 4 fries and a 4 drinks). Oh yea, you don’t get your drinks while you wait. So we had to set there thirsty. We get our food finally and it had been setting under the heat lamps for a least 20 mins. There was a guy standing beside me waiting on his milkshake for 45 minutes. Worst service ever. I don’t think they will stay in business very long.

I picked up my take out order. I told the staff I needed the strawberry shake. I was told a couple minutes later it was in the bag. I checked and I could see the top of the cup so I left. Got home and it was vanilla. My husband ordered the hot ones burger and there was a quarter size of sauce in the middle of the top bun. His burger was basically dry. My bacon burger was cooked too long, part of it was not edible because it was hard as a rock. This was my first time coming here and I don’t plan on returning.

The food was good. If you get the Shack Attack chocolate concrete you better like chocolate. It is very very rich. I liked it so much that I forgot to take a picture of it. The fries are very good. I think it is the way they do the crinkles that makes them unique.

Great place, it is a stop my wife and I always go to when we take take trips to Las Vegas. The burgers patties are thin roadside style so if you have a big appetite go for a double. Beware the chopped cherry peppers have a kick to them so if you do not like spicy food get them on the side or avoid. The local dish just for us in Alabama…. Big Bobs cheese fries, topped with bbq, damn shame they don’t get to have this at other locations. Be forewarned Friday and Saturday this place will be packed and there will be a wait. Pro tip order ahead with the Shack App on either Apple or the Google play store.
