This is a good spot for South Asian food in the area. The portions are very generous and the taste is 7/10 (prefer Pakwan or Zareens).

I’ve been coming here with my family for the past 11 years, and I have to admit, they’ve been downhill for the past five years.

One of the best kebab and tandoori I’ve had in a very long time. We also ordered some gravy that weren’t very tasty compared to their tandoori appetizers. Even portion size of their entrees are very small compare to their price. I was very surprised by their size of naan and kulcha. They were extremely large portions for about $2. I would prefer to get take away next time than dining.

The food I’ve had here has gone down in quality progressively since 2020. The last time I went, I had to send back the biryani because there was no biryani flavor in it. I’m not even sure how that happened. The CTM also had no flavor at all, just a hint of sweet tomato sauce.

Did not like a food – tikka was so raw like they clean it with water . Kabab has no taste and naan was not close to Tandoori Rooti. On the top the attitude was not at good – no happy welcoming smile. They need to invest and make place nice so people can enjoy seating . No salad just onion and those are also very strong .

I ordered the Murgh Shahi Kurma for pickup. It was horrible. The dish was not freshly made, the gravy was watery and had no taste, no flavor, nothing. I feel cheated. I WILL NOT GO TO SHALIMAR EVER AGAIN.

I have always like the two Shalimar restaurants in San Francisco so I tried this one. The major difference is the naan. This one is less fluffy and more burnt. I think I like the tea in Jones Street better too.

Food was delicious and was ready fairly quickly. The dining area isn’t the best, but the service and quality of food make up for it. I would recommend the Chicken Seekh Kabab and Karahi Chicken.
