There are few things you need to know before trying this place: first and foremost the food is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE in this restaurant and after you finish your meal you feel like you paid for a fancy meal in a luxury restaurant but you didn’t get 1/10 of that food quality! The food is not authentic and just lets call it they barbecue meat and add rice next to it, thats it! The decor is too old and you Don feel comfortable eating there! The service is just low quality and you pay too much money for what you get. I will definitely never ever try this place again!

I called in and mid order the Iranian lady rudely interrupts me with an “oh customers just walked in” and the phone was passed to a kitchen helper. I completed my order with him, he says 14-30 min. I made the call while I was 35 min away to ensure it would be ready because I was just driving through Portland. When I walked in she said it would be about another 10 min. I asked them if they even started my order and she said no. She said the restaurant got very busy, no OK one second I just need to push let’s put no no one second one second is Gracie. I need to tell you I know I just gonna clean the grease. It’s a little greasy hold on but it’s good bacon. This is very good quality bacon look behind me OK is it real or no on your pinky on your pancake or fruit you’re handsome no sir here in America did your doing enjoy it and here are your eye is you got your fork and your the potatoes are in I looked around and there were only 2 tables seated. I had kids in the car so I did not wait and left. So can’t tell you of their food was good. That was already 2 strikes for me.

We were looking for a restaurant with a Mediterranean menu. The special occasion was to celebrate my wife’s birthday with our family. Stumbled upon Shandiz. Wonderful. We will be back.

The atmosphere was amazing. We spent about an hour there and we had a great time. Food was good. I ordered Koobideh and it was delicious. They can be more generous about the customers. We wanted to have half salad half rice but they did not approve it. Thank you.

As a veteran of many Persian restaurants I’m happy to say this place is easily the best Persian food I’ve had in Portland. Highly recommend the chicken soltani!
