The best 生煎包 I’ve had in Bay Area. The menu has many traditional Shanghai style entrees. Though the business looks not big currently, there don’t have many staffs in the restaurant besides the owner. Also a lot of seating are not available indoor. I wish the store could be more popular. The food was absolutely top quality.

Amazing dumplings. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Price was affordable. The layout of the table was a little questionable. But the food rocked.

Best 生煎包 in the bay. Best Shanghai style dumpling in the bay area. Very good dough thickness, good crisp bottom, holds juice well. Could use more scallions on top. Stuffing perfect flavor. We found spicy wontons good but with a bit too much vinegar. Cucumbers very good. Can be hard to spot in mall area, not next to Lion market but further left where other restaurants are located (small sign primarily in Chinese). Best to pay in cash, does not accept cards below $25. Highly recommend.

Pan fried dumplings are a must-order – I’ll definitely come back for again just for those dumplings. They are crispy on the bottom, yet soft and juicy with soup inside – 6 of them for ~$8.

If I can give Shanghai Bistro a 0 star I would because they are shady! They pre-charge for food so when my order came out to be $98, I wrote down $100 on the recipe at first, and then after dinner, I gave $15 in cash as tip. HOWEVER, I just checked my credit card statement and I was charged $108 by Shanghai Bistro. So they changed the “100” I wrote down to “108” by themselves! I would not recommend this fraudulent and rip-off restaurant to anyone

Super delicious shanghainese dishes. The XLB are piping hot and burst (literally) with flavor and taste. The must order dish is the Pan fried pork buns!! Also full of hot hot soup so take care when opening!

The foods are more than delicious, just like authentic local foods from Shanghai/Taiwan. There are few dishes you must order: 1) Xiaolong Bao, 2) Sheng Jian Bao (pork bun), 3) Pot Sticker and 4) beef noodle. The soy milk is also good. Most of the customers are Chinese. The staff can speak Chinese.

Best shengjian bao in the Bay! At a very reasonable price too. Everything we ordered was really great – pork ear, SJB, SJB with shrimp, potstickers, wonton noodle soup, another noodle with pork and black bean, xlb, and xlb with xo sauce. I will definitely be back

We eat duck noodle soup, Shanghai dumpling, and spicy beef noodle. The taste is OK, and the services can be improved.
