Haven’t been here for ages, guess nothing much changed. The service still excellent. And food still considered good and I am just surprised they haven’t raise the price much. The decorations may need a bit of renewal. Overall, is a good place to have some decent Chinese food.

The food here is absolutely delicious!!! We celebrated our friends’ baby’s birthday in a private room and it was fantastic. From the cold appetizers to the main entrees and everything in between, plus the hot chrysanthemum tea, everything was great, and also 100% approved by a Shanghainese friend. I would recommend and come back.

I came here for the weekday special—all small, medium, and large dimsum are $4.99 each. I honestly was surprised by the quality of the food and can say this is some of the best dim sum I’ve had in the 626. I really enjoyed the egg tarts and the black pepper ribs.

Food was amazing. Service was great. Came in at 8pm and service was very fast. Prices were decent, around 10-20 for regular dishes and 60 for the crab. The food was creative and exceptional. Parking was good

The BEST Chinese restaurant I’ve ever had in San Gabriel!!! All the taste flavor are 100% same as in my hometown and remind me of my grandma who is from Shanghai. The soy sauce pork are really, really amazing and surprising to me!! Definitely will come again!

Food was pretty good. The restaurant itself looks like the try to block out the outside scenery as much as possible, which made the place slightly more immersive.

The most authentic Shanghainese food you are going to get in the Los Angeles area. I strongly suggest their braised fish, stir fry eels, pork belly, and white woodear and taro dessert. The atmosphere is representative of the authentic cuisine, great for booking out for private parties and group dinners.

Prime Chinese dining. Food was amazing, service team was very hospitable and elevated our dining experience. Atmosphere is very comfy and reminiscent of a chinese banquet hall. Coming from the post-soviet diaspora, my family and I really enjoyed this place. I am still surprised by the affordability of this Michelin star restaurant. Great stuff

Great time to visit now when they have the one price ($4.99) for S,M,& L dim sum promotion. Food quality is above average. Service is a bit slow but tolerable considering the value of food.

Shanghai No. 1 restaurant has been opened about 10 years, and it was closed during the Covid-19 pandemic but reopened this year. I would say it is an authentic Shanghainese cuisine restaurant on Valley Blvd in the heart of San Gabriel Valley. The restaurant decorations are traditional Chinese designs, and there are 5 luxury dining rooms if you like to have a special occasioned party. The foods are excellent and can be expensive depending on your pocket and taste. Currently, can’t travel to China but if you want to have real Shanghainese food, this is a 5 stars restaurant.
