It may be because we came at 2 pm, but the service was a little slow. The food, however, was great. I don’t have much experience with Ethiopian food, so I can’t speak to the authenticity, but the spices were delightful. We ordered 3 different dishes. The owner overheard us saying we wanted to share and try each other’s food, so he asked if we’d like for everything to be served on one platter. The picture attached is the result. The presentation was beautiful, and it had the taste to match. Some of the meats were halal and the staff is knowledgeable as to which ones were.

This cozy little restaurant is a must try if you live around the area. We tried the Chicken and veggies samplers and the tea. The food was delicious and the portion size was enough feed two people. The atmosphere was nice and the service was quick.

If you go to DC or live around the area please go try this place! As soon as we got there we felt like family, they welcomed us with friendly smiles and sat us immediately! Our waiter looked through the menu with us and suggested what he likes and we decided to get the big plate that serves 4-5 people and the coffee! The plate was so good and flavorful and the coffee was served to us after a coffee ceremony! It is worth the experience and I promise you will love the food!

Delicious Ethiopian food! I can’t speak to authenticity because I don’t know what unauthentic Ethiopian food would be, but it seems to be a very authentic and family owned restaurant. Everything we had was really good. If I didn’t live close by, I would definitely make the trip here.

This cozy spot is a hidden gem tucked away in North Bethesda. Sheba (“SHAY-bah”) is absolutely outstanding. Chill vibes, outrageously good food, great service. I have been to a few other Ethiopian spots around Silver Spring, and this one tops them all. Their injera is perfect and the combo portions are just right. If you splurge on the housemade Teff cake, you won’t be disappointed. Be prepared to have an authentic Ethiopian coffee experience as well. I’m lucky enough to live within walking distance!! Salam!

Had a great meal and great time at Sheba. Food was excellent, prepared and presented nicely. The restaurant itself is humble and quaint, a great relaxed atmosphere where you eat and enjoy yourself with friends and family. The staff were kind and courteous, we never felt rushed. I would absolutely recommend and will certainly be back every time im in town. Also, if you are a beer drinker, try a Habesha, it’s delicious and refreshing!

Best Ethiopian restaurant in Moco. This restaurant has a great family style feel, the owner comes out and greets every customer. They roast the coffee, which is strong and delicious, right at your table! Lunch specials are a great deal with lots of variety. You can always get extra Injera (Ethiopian bread) if you need it. While they have meat options, this restaurant is perfect for vegetarians as many of the dishes are made with stewed veggies or peas. Overall highly recommend!

This was my first time trying Ethiopian food, and coming here was the best decision. Our server Emmanuel was so enthusiastic and sweet. He was also excited that it would our entire group’s first time trying Ethiopian food at his family’s restaurant and my first time trying Ethiopian food altogether.
