If you want fresh quality deli meat on a sandwich this is the place to go! I hadn’t been here for years and the food was just as good if not better than I remember. They definitely cut their menu down but when I asked about a sandwich I used to get I was told they are still able to make anything that was on the old menu they just shortened it due to the long lines that form at lunch.

Wish this place were closer. I feel like it’s so hard to find quality food with service to match these days. This place hit all of the marks. Their firehouse sandwich is the best I’ve had in a long time. must’ve read my mind because the cherry on top of it all was the mini burger gummy candy they put in my bag. My favorite. Great selection of excellent warm/cold sandwiches and fresh salads. Great customer service and the owner gave me some free slices of watermelon while I was waiting for my chef salad the other day. Very friendly staff! Highly recommend for breakfast and lunch!!

Sherwood Gourmet is by far the best deli in the greater Alexandria/Sherwood/Belle Haven area. I’ve been going to this deli since high school and always enjoy purchasing TWO sandwiches every time I come by! This place is a local gem and Mak, Heidi, and Owen do an amazing job and are always friendly with every customer – they even remember me from when I was younger! Always good to have somewhere you know you can come back to years later and get the same great quality. If you’re ever visiting or back in Alexandria, don’t forget to stop by!

The food is great! Been coming here for years. The women who work here are awesome, and very hard workers. But…. It has come to my attention that the owner is practicing wage theft! He’s taking the tips the customers put in the payment machine. He’s keeping the tips!! There’s a tip can, but if you don’t have cash what do you do? There is a camera behind the cash register that is watching the employees. The employees are obviously frightened of this man. Please bring cash with you for tips, and don’t do it in the machine. And if any of these women get fired for this I will take it up with the BBB and whomever else I need to. Pay your workers fairly, dude! Give them the tips!
