Wow! I was not expecting such high end food! Heard amazing things but Shilling took it to another level! Even the one bite starters were raising my eye brows!! The food was extremely delicious, one dish after the next. The service was right on. Jonathon and Emily were so incredibly attentive to us and even brought our kids some paper and pens. The vibe was flowing as the music and scene were perfect. Everyone in DC needs to check this restaurant out immediately!!!!!! Thanks Reed for an amazing experience!

We went for dinner. The food was great! My feedback generally was the service was lack luster. My drink came out with the second course, there were long pauses between courses. But the real sticker for me was the fact that there were no spoons. I was served a crab cake with gazpacho, in a bowl- but was only given a fork. For dessert my pie and ice cream also only had a fork. It made my dining experience difficult and it’s the little things that make service over the top.

Food was amazingly good. The three course tasting menu was so so good and the service was top notch. I had the Homemade Country Sausage, Chicken Ballotine, and the Rum Baba. I also added their delicious French Onion Soup as a second appetizer. Someone else ordered a la carte and had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken (which I will have to get whenever I come back). Everything was clean plate worthy. The servers were incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and how everything was prepared. I would recommend 1000 times out of 1000.

Shilling Canning Company really hit the trifecta. The service was great, the food incredible, and as a combination the overall experience represented good value. We had both Wagu main courses shown in the photos, the beet and the pork belly appetizer, and the key lime dessert. There is a 22% service charge to cover salary/tip, but that made it easy and worth it with the table side descriptions and great customer service. So good!!!

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We came for our anniversary and couldn’t be happier with the service, ambiance and food. We did the 3 course tasting menu and also ordered cocktails. Very impressed with the drinks and the French onion soup. Highly recommend and can’t wait to try for brunch!

Went for the Chef Counter experience to celebrate my birthday and can not recommend this place enough. The service was an absolute stand out, everyone took time to talk with my friend and I about the wine and food we were enjoying, it really made the night special. The 7 courses were perfect on their own but the wine pairings were so on point. Without a doubt the portions of each dish were far larger then other restaurants of this caliber… actually having top tier left overs the next day is a huge win. Bravo.

We have dined at Shilling twice before Covid and have gotten takeout twice. We had their flatbread with prosciutto which was fine. Steak and eggs with the best potato rosti. Their meat is always good. Brunch burger was messy but delicious. Regular burger was good and recently the price has increased to add steak fries. Crab cakes at the time we got it was $35 and has increased to $39! You get two 4 oz. It was good but pricey even at $35.

There are not enough words to describe just how amazing this EXPERIENCE was. My husband had accidentally canceled our reservation somewhere else that evening and for once I can say his mistake was the best thing for us. We called in to see if there was any way we could get a last minute reservation and by some miracle they had a cancelation that we were able to fill. When we arrived the gentlemen running the operation was nothing short of kind, accommodating and ready to take on any role they needed to. The general manager was playing many hats that night. NO task was above anyone’s title which is something you rarely see in the industry. It was a tight ship with an amazing team.
