SHINthai is a newer form of a casual counter service whereby guests walk up to a counter to order their food and are then given a number stand. This number stand sits on the guest’s chosen table and then their food is brought to the table once prepared. This is a type of modified counter service mixed with a full service in restaurants. It expedites the process, as well creates more interactions and opportunities for stellar customer service to shine through.
Cozy, modern stop for familiar Thai basics with a focus on unique, artful presentation. Based on 562 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.3 stars. Price $

SHINthai is simply amazing! Their vegan Pad Thai is my ultimate comfort food, and I could happily eat it every day. The fried tofu is fantastic, and the green onions add a wonderful touch to the dish. Highly recommend! It’s a delightful experience that keeps me coming back for more. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

They should teach a class on how to prepare carry out. Containers are stuffed. Food is HOT! Simple menu. Always the right order. Ready and kind at the counter. Easy after work go-to.

we ordered the peanut curry with pork and the tofu with green beans in garlic sauce. both were so mediocre, I didn’t even know Thai food could be this mediocre. the curry was gritty but thin, the brown sauce was way too gloopy, and flavor-wise both were extremely sweet and otherwise extremely bland. we also got spring rolls which seemed like they came from frozen

My wife and I have had this place a few times and the food is usually stellar. However, yesterday we had an order of basil fried rice with chicken and drunken noodles with shrimp. Neither one tasted fresh, the vegetables in my rice seemed tough and over cooked, and the food overall was below standard like it was old. My stomach even began hurting after eating so I assume it wasn’t fresh (or something about it wasn’t fresh).

Cheesy Noodle is one of my favorite Thai dishes and I was surprised to find that they offer it here given it isn’t very common. It was very good but not the best I had. What really stood out to me was the Drunken Noodle my wife got. It was absolutely delicious and might’ve been one of the best ones I’ve tried at a Thai restaurant. I really recommend this place to anyone in Royal Oak craving Thai food.

It was upsetting that because we arrived 58 minutes before they closed we could not sit down and eat. There were 3 tables sitting. We ordered carry out. I ordered Pad Kra Pao which I love. It was very disappointing in that it was more green pepper than anything, I was unable to find any basil and there was not a fried egg. The fried egg makes this dish for me. My sister ordered the Panang which was quite tasty but again mostly green pepper. We both ordered mild but hers was much more spicy than mine so she could only eat a little of it. Even the rice couldn’t cook it. Both of us usually order medium but since we had not been there before we decided to go mild. There are so many other places to choose from so we will look elsewhere.

We had a very delightful experience here for dinner the other night. The food was great, with plenty of yummy gluten free and vegan options. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was nice and modern and great for dine-in services. Carry-out was very busy that night too, it seemed like a great go-to spot for the locals.

Quality at SHINthai has gone way down. Last two times I’ve came here the food has been terrible. I got a chicken dish both times and it’s so chewy I wouldn’t give it to my dog. We will not be returning.

Very good Thai food! The crab Rangoon was tasty. It’s located on Washington street so it’s parking all around. They have outdoor seating that’s where we sat over the summer

This place used to be good. I’ll never come back now. Food is nasty now. My wife and I ordered the same thing, same mild spice level, one dish with too much salt and no spice, the other was way too spicy with no taste. We also didn’t get a second iced tea we ordered. Left feeling very disappointed. Staff wasn’t friendly at all. Go elsewhere
