New sister restaurant to Sugo! I was very surprised to see this and thought the restaurants were one but they are different concepts!

Casual Japanese bar with a good vibe, and a few vegetarian options. The flavors were good, the vegetable fritters were the standout. However, quantities were confusing; there should have been twice as much of the fritters for the cost. Also, the cheesy corn quantity could be less, it gets monotonous eating it after a bit. The drinks aren’t good; they advertise alcoholic boba tea, but there wasn’t any boba or jelly in it. And they didn’t seem to know what to do about that.

Located next to its sister restaurant Sugo, SHIO offers Japanese small bites with a twist. Beverage options include beer, sake, sake cocktails, boozy boba, and non-alcoholic. I only tried 4 dishes, will be back to try more. Recommend the Baku-Dan.
