The Akrami family (Azar & Ata) migrated to the United States of America in the late 1970’s due to the Revolution in their native country of Persia. They left everything behind and with great courage, determination, and faith started a whole new life with their two sons, Ramin and Ashcon.
The word of mouth soon reached the nearby cities to their hometown of Louisville, KY, traveling as far as Washington DC. After a few decades of persistence by friends and foe alike to open a restaurant, Akrami’s sons Ramin and Ashcon finally put a front to a very old family tradition of crazy-good food and then there was born Shiraz Mediterranean Grill.

Excellent place. I was not aware it was there and I got to try it for the first time. I loved it. Flavors were fantastic as well as portions and value.

We stopped here visiting Louisville for the first time. To say that this place is good is an understatement. Hands down, this is the best Mediterranean food we have had. We are from Nashville, and NOTHING in Nashville can compare. We had the steak kabobs, and the steak was phenomenal. The service was great, the restaurant is clean and a cute little boho place. I’m so happy we stopped, and we WILL be having it again before leaving Louisville. Exceptional visit. Thank you.

Looking for a change of pace on our normal regimen, my roommate and I settled on this place. This place is located on Bardstown Rd. There is metered street parking available. Upon walking in you notice multiple places to sit. to order your food you approach the kitchen counter, The menu there is posted into the right there is the daily specials on a chalkboard. My friend and I both settled on the steak kebab a brussel sprout starter and sidewinder fries. Within 10 minutes our food was served hot fresh and ready to eat. Steak kebabs were cooked to perfection and were very juicy. The sidewinder fries were hot fresh and full of flavor. But not least boy oh boy those brussels sprouts were divine. Overall, if you’re looking for something delicious and new to try this would be the spot.

Kate to me, embodies the hospitality of the Mediterranean with the modern ideals of today. Great atmosphere: warm, inviting, and the decor is not to be missed. Finally, the food! I live in Orange County, CA, with a large Persian population. This is as authentic as you can get!

I’ve been coming to this place for years and it’s always been a solid meal. The meat is cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. The salads are fresh and delicious. Service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend using their tzatziki sauce and spreading it on everything.

The atmosphere is beautiful. Excellent customer service, however, we ordered 5 different menu items and only two had flavor the other 3 dishes were meh.

A joke compared to the Popular Level location. Got my usual chicken kabob after being hung up on multiple times trying to place a carry out order. Leave and get home, just to look in the box and see this….raw red onion and one tomato along with a jalapeno. I always receive cooked veggies with my kabob. The best part being that my pita bread which normally is securely and dryly contained in tin foil is layered underneath of my chicken. I’m not sure about anyone else but i don’t enjoy soggy pita with my Mediterranean experience. I paid normal price for a kabob and inedible pita bread. ( Not the product that I get at all, and wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone.

It is a real Persian restaurante. The food was really delicious and high quality. The price is a bit high, around $25 per person, but it worths trying.
