When we travel we always stop in small towns and snag breakfast. We’ve probably been to over a hundred breakfast restaurants. My husband orders biscuits and gravy every time and we track his ratings (he’s like a biscuit and gravy connoisseur). Very rarely does he award a 10/10 rating… but today he did. So delicious. Amazing! Very home feeling atmosphere, amazing hot food. Homemade fresh bread, seriously this bread is phenomenal. Helpings are large with very good pricing. Staff is very friendly. They have checkers printed on the tables so you can play while you wait for your food. I loved everything about this place.

Definitely not what it used to be! We hadn’t been in for quite a while. Came specifically for pie!! Only made one pie for a Saturday and sold it to one person…..food was warm by the time we were served and the kitchen only had one table at a time to deal with based on how people were arriving. Next trip will be to Mancelona, since this location was sold!!

It’s hit or miss at this place. The first time we went, the food and service were good. The second time, service was ok, but food was terrible! The third time, the food was ok, but the service was terrible . We waited 45 minutes for our food!! I didn’t necessarily expect compensation for this, but an apology would have been appropriate. Needless to say, we’ll be bypassing this place for now on.

Love this place the service was top-notch very friendly staff food was hot and fresh with their own homemade bread and homemade buttermilk biscuits for their sausage and gravy, definitely would recommend trying if you’re out in kalkaska area.

Upon arrival the parking lot was 1/2 full and the building itself looked unique and fun. I’m not usually the one to judge by appearance, but the inside felt cramped and claustrophobic. I’ve been here twice for breakfast now, and the service the first time around was good; however, the second time around the waitress had a smirky attitude. The food smelled good, but the taste and presentation wasn’t there. The bacon was greasy, and tasted old. The Pancakes and French-toast was oily, but yet bland ( no flavor ). However, the orange juice was good. Two stars for their orange juice and unique location.
