I got the lau lau with kalau pork. The lu’au leaves are so good! The kalau was smokey and delicious. I didn’t actually know what I was ordering so if I realized there was pork inside the lau lau I would have gotten the beef stew instead.

Great food in a low key setting. One of those little gems that focus on what I’m there for: the food! Clean and bustling little dining area, nothing fancy. Pay at the counter when you’re done. I spent about $20 on my meal, with tip.

This restaurant offers a multitude of delicious saimin offerings! I opted for the kalua pig saimin and was pleasantly satisfied. Those flavors worked very well together. The restaurant was very comfortably air conditioned and the staff was accommodating and friendly. Thanks for a great comfort food experience!

This is a hidden gem, locals place, with really good Hawaiian home style food. I tried the Lau Lau with beef stew plate and it was delicious. The prices are very reasonable. The wait person was friendly and very efficient. Quick service on the food.

This place is sooo good. My wife lived in Oahu and had talked about it for years. I was blown away. There are so many options on the menu. The Kulua Pork with the home made kimchi was the bomb.

Aloha peoplez; so how many of you lived when shiros was the place?! I am so glad this old school place serves all the old school dishes along with new flavors as well. I grew up going to places like this with saimin combos with fries, cheese burgers. You gotta try thr roast duck with wun ton.. so amazing. The staff is super kind and friendly. Just need to slow things down a little and have more time with customers and the orders should come out all at once. But other than that move the old school flavors.

Maybe I just ordered the wrong item, but I got the bbq short ribs with kimchi; the short ribs were basically inedible 70%+ fat and the meat that was there was insanely tough. The kimchi was the cheapest store bought one, and the “tossed salad” that came with it was a piece of a head of completely plane lettuce. I tried picking through the ribs but more or less had to throw out the whole plate. Waste of nearly 20$ unfortunately.

Ordered takeout and the Filipino woman working the window was incredibly rude. She rushed me and even muttered, “oh my god” under her breath. I will definitely try to sit inside the next time, if there is going to be one.

9/4/2021 Stopped by because the husband was starving. He got a Chicken Cutlet and four Homemade Lumpia. He enjoyed his cutlet! The lumpia was stuffed & delicious but pretty oily compared to Elena’s (since we had theirs a few weeks ago).
