The meal was delicious as usual. We enjoyed all our rolls and the appetizers. The rock shrimp especially were delicious. The seaweed salad was fresh, and the server was kind. The tempura ice cream was a delicious end to the meal.

Consistently delicious food and good variety. Friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere is also very pleasant. A dish I had not tried before going here was Japanese curry which turned out very tasty! Good parking

We always go to SAKE for our hibachi, it’s our favorite. Today we were right around the corner from here though so we decided to give it a try. We waited about 10 minutes for our server to come even give us water and it was pretty empty. I was so disappointed in the hibachi it comes with your choice and veggies… no fried rice no lo mein noodles. They don’t even have lo mein noodles on the menu!! I had to end up getting basically sautéed spaghetti. Not a fan.

Splendid solid consistently sincere service, hands-down the pinnacle of quality sushi/sashimi, & astoundingly superb presentation. This fine-dining sushi establishment is the Hattori Hanzo Sword of sushi. The cat’s pajamas. The freshest, top-of-the-line raw fish in the Capital District by far. The care and attention to detail with which the Sushi Chefs prepare and craft those luscious lumps is beyond love— vis a vis unwavering devotion implemented in a synch… vibes Of Kith & Kin imbued into every platter, a scrumdiddliumptuous satisfaction to resolve the matter. Staff here is invariably sweet and polite and prompt. Food is: *see above*. Decor & Aesthetic is: Lit. However— one general disappointment of note: the LED and fluorescent light-bulbs engender quite a harsh and uncomfortable tone. Memo to the Management: please, if you would be so kind, take under advisement the notion of investing in beautiful incandescent bulbs. Consider it a complimentary consult. kanpai! *PS i’ve been dining here for years, usually at least once a week, and it is excellent every time.

Hands down the best sushi spot that I’ve ever been to. My boyfriend and I go there all the time. Got the Tom Yum soup and there’s nothing like it. The atmosphere is beautiful. Excellent service and wonderful staff! The food is out of this world. This is one place we can’t live without.

Not impressed so far. I’ve never seen tea in a paper cup. I think there’s a salad under all that dressing… not sure. Edit: Sushi was good.

I tried to stake out my local neigborhood restaurant and I was a little disappointed with portions i mean I got tom yum soup which doesnt cost a lot and they gave me portion size of if I was getting dressing for a large salad. And it was pricey too. I know the cost of foods has definitely increased but with such a small portion with two pieces of chicken an barely any mushrooms or anything. That really put me in a funk having to wait as long as I did at the restaurant. Well, maybe try it again but not get soup and get a meal.

I had very high hopes for this restaurant when I first stepped through the door. The atmosphere was wonderful and very tranquil and then I tried the food…. First I tried their raspberry saketini which was very good and moderately priced. Appetizers for a crab cream cheese roll with a ginger sauce which was very appetizing and matched with shrimp tempura, which was highly unseasoned and very very bland. The tempura batter was rather undercooked on top of that so it gave it a gummy mushy feel in the mouth. Then came…….the disaster Zone. I had a beef Padtai dish, while echnically not Japanese, it still was done horribly. It was drenched and what tasted like a bottled sweet and sour sauce. Heavy on the sour and sweet. The entire dish was practically swimming in it and it made it inedible. My lovely dinner companion had a mango chicken dish with brown rice let’s just say the brown rice was the feature component of the dish. The rice was a clump of grainy starch and it still tasted better than the mango chicken. The mango chicken with a thick batter still undercooked is unforgivable since it tasted heavily of freezer burn and Refrigeration. No amount of soy sauce or chopped up pepper and mango could cover up the unappetizing taste. On the bright side our server Karen was very affable and helpful and served us in an expedient manner. However the owner when making change for us to pay for our meal conveniently neglected to give us the correct change so that we could pay our server I had to make up the difference for what he pocketed! Shame Shame shame, Mr. Miyagi! Overall, our eel roll was delicious. That was all!!! I would rather commit suicide with my samurai sword before daring to dine again at Shogun Restaurant on Madison Avenue in Albany. Here is the Japanese I learned, YeeYuck.
