Heard that Shoney’s was great but this was TERRIBLE place to stop on the road! for one it was so hot like one other review said like 85 degrees even the two ladies that came in after us said “ditto”. The food on the buffet bar looked as if it had been sitting not hours but days! Several items on the ‘order menu’ they were out of…’really’! I couldn’t eat anything, so left hungry. This apple is just a sample of what this Shoney’s has to offer. The server Christina was very nice though❣️

The food is very good. Large replicas of the 10 Commandment tablets greet you when you come in. Service is quick, friendly and efficient. Salad bar is fresh and well stocked.

This was the first Shoney’s I have seen in many years. In all fairness, I did arrive 15 minutes before close. Our server (and the other staff in general) were very attentive and polite. Got to love Southern hospitality. I ordered fish and mashed potatoes and gravy. The fish was awesome and fresh but the potatoes were kind of old. Like I said, it was nearly closing time. I really don’t hold that against them. Our server did ask if everything was okay but I didn’t complain. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We were on our way home from vacation and thought the breakfast buffet was a great idea. One thing I didn’t care for was extra crispy thin bacon. But on the flip side I really liked the melted butter and warm syrup on my pancakes,it makes them taste awesome,really tasty good.

The buffet selection was tiny and most of the food on it was dry and tasteless. I paid way too much for a breakfast buffet to only eat biscuits and gravy and bacon. The service, however, outstanding. Our server, Missy, was warm, attentive and pleasant to a fault.

Awful food; Stuff had just been put out and tasted so bland. You could tell it was all pre-boxed and refrigerated, nothing was actually fresh. No flavour at all.

Staff is wonderful, food not so much. If you have health restrictions (gluten, dairy, corn) you won’t find much if anything on the menu especially with cross contamination issues. Those without allergy issues did not like the food and suffered a bit afterward (due to how many were with our large group – we can only figure that it was the food). Again, the staff did their best with limited resources.

Food was pretty bad but as we were traveling through we had limited options. The highlight of the meal was our waitress. I wish I had gotten her name because she was phenomenal !! Super friendly without being fake or pushy about it, very attentive, and just generally what every waitress should aspire to be! I know she was older than most of the other staff so maybe she has been doing this for a while and just got really good at it? Our bill was $36, her tip was $50 and she earned every cent. So if you want decent food and great service (from her anyway) this is the place to go.

We have come to this Shoney’s many times when we come through the area for many years past. The bad news is that in all those years going to this restaurant, they’ve never updated it. However, I will say that we stopped today for the breakfast buffet and the food was very good and the server was very friendly and attentive. It was a good experience.
