Shorty’s BBQ Restaurant was a good late night stop for dinner for a hungry crew. It’s great for large groups with long tables that can accommodate a lot of people at one time. They always seem to be busy so call ahead with a large group.

Okay so 3.5 stars if I could — and that’s for Florida BBQ level quality. I haven’t really found anything that is incredible in all of Florida personally.. the only place I’ve seen that looks close to home from the pics is $40/lb brisket and I haven’t tried it yet..

I give this establishment 4/10 it was just ok. If you know real BBQ this not the place for you. The waitress Jess was very nice & displayed excellent customer service. The hostess was very helpful as well. My family enjoyed their meals.

A staple for any local down here in Miami! Best beef Brisket in Florida. Service is fast food is heavier but man is worth every bite. I normally stick to lighter foods but to heck with it so good. It’s a part of the local scene down here and must to stop by! You will enjoy it.

Have been to Miami staying in this area several times and kept stating that I was going to try Shortys BBQ. You don’t see many places unless you know where to look. Tried Baby back ribs with fries, cole slaw, and baked Mac ans cheese. Baby backs were just ok, has some flavor but just ok. Mac and cheese were very cheesy, but that was about it. Could have been Kraft with extra cheese. Also ordered Brisket plate, and the Burger. Burger had the best flavor of anything and it was legit at least 3/4 inch thick. Ordered med-well. The brisket unfortunately tasted like roast beef. Looked as if it had been sitting out simply reheated. Being from Texas as 12 hour brisket is not long enough and having been impatient enough while cooking my own on my wood smoker, if the temp is not right, time alone is not the deciding factor. There was no smoke ring and even with very thin slices I could barely cut it with my fork. That could have been bc I let it sit there for a minute while trying the burger. The Keylime pie was thick and really good. Our waitress, Adrianna was awesome and took care of us. So, overall not the best, surely not the worst, could be better. For all of that the bill was only about $80+. So, not bad. Can’t leave out the fries, they were good, crinkle style so they can either be overcooked or undercooked. Have to get them just right, but they came out hot with all of the plates.

Although Shorty’s BBQ – Dadeland-South Dixie is almost an hour away from where I live, it’s worth the drive. The Shorty’s that’s closest to me does not have cornbread. But the one at Dadeland does. The baby back ribs and the brisket are fantastic.
