WOW. What a little hidden gem in Lexington. The food was spectacular and the portions were definitely worth the price. Great beer selection even though they were having trouble with the drafts today. Our server, Emily Y, was fantastic and took care of us well! Will definitely be heading back that way sometime soon! Excited to check out the lounge bar when it is open. YUM!

I really hate what happened to this place , food is still delicious per usual but they raised their prices too much , I feel like every other month their upping their prices . Before a soup or salad was INCLUDED with your meal , now you have to pay 1$ extra . I stopped going because of their prices . I used to be able to get a good meal for less than 15$ now anytime I go everything is about 20/25$

This place was great. The ambiance was nice, kind of laid back but family friendly. Our server was really nice and sociable. The food was amazing flavor wise and not too expensive considering the portions! Typical Japanese American style food but the flavor choices were vast and quite impressive. My whole family couldn’t stop eating or mentioning how good it was throughout the whole dinner. There is a cute lounge bar there as well but it was closed unfortunately. Definitely a great experience and will be going back again soon!

Always enjoyed eating here. The food has always been wonderful! Nice spot in downtown Lexington to walk around before or after eating. I would highly recommend giving them a try if you haven’t eaten here. Totally worth it!

We went here to eat and try something different… The food was good and our waitress was good but the manager and the other servers were terrible.. The manager got an attitude when there table menu prices were all wrong and didn’t want to honor the prices that there menu was showing.. Will not go back!!!!

Shoto is such a gem of a place. Awesome location, killer upstairs bar and the food is just excellent. The menu is very clearly laid out, where you choose your protein and can pair it with a variety of veggies and sides and a starch. There are certain things Japanese dives have to nail…and Jimmy and Co. sweat the small details; the shrimp sauce, the clear onion soup, the attention to detail on the appetizers, and even the decor: it’s all perfection. If you’re wanting something really indulgent, ask for the firecracker chicken or shrimp: it’s breaded and fried to perfection, and it’s drizzled with what I think is some sort of spicy mayo. It’s so stinking good. If you’re up for a longer night, be sure to hit up Jimmy’s bar upstairs, the cocktails redefine handcrafted and a lot of love goes into them, much as it does in everything else here. Highly recommended.

Amazing food everytime! Shoto’s has to be one of the most consistent restaurants I’ve been to. We order takeout and dine-in frequently. Waitresses are always very friendly. I also love the fact that the sinks in the bathroom are low enough for my two year old to reach. Highly recommend this place.
