It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. The idea was to create a restaurant where people would feel welcome to be themselves, families could afford to dine out together and strangers would leave as friends.
Coastal vacationers demanded that Shrimp Basket expand to provide this incredible seafood value to those unable to be at the beach year round.
Today, we’re happy to offer locations across the Southeast for family and friends to feel a part of the beach, dine and enjoy delicious seafood!

We stopped throught here on the way back to Atlanta and so glad we did. The garlic crab boil was so seasoned well! My husband ate his fish platter all in one sitting. The portion size is good, service was excellent and the price for the food was very reasonable.

I visited the Shrimp Basket in Bay Minette, AL. I noticed that they had all-you-can-eat snow crab legs. I asked the waitress if they do military discounts, and she said yes. So, I sat down to eat. It was like they were scared to give me the crabs or wanted me to have them. These were the most miniature crabs you ever have for $59. The waitress was friendly and did a good job serving me. But when I asked for the check with a military discount, the waitress told me that they don’t discount buffets. But anyway, their $59 crab buffet didn’t feel like it. They should have said four tiny clusters of crabs for $59. Either you give military discounts, or you don’t, or to certain people.

There were 4 in our Party. Service was poor although it was because our server was working in the kitchen and just could not cover both jobs at one time, bless her! The issue was the FOOD it was HORRIBLE!!!! We love Shrimp Basket and were so looking forward to our meal. My mother ordered coconut shrimp platter that came to our table burnt, she could not even peal off the burnt it was so bad. My husband has had jaw surgery he ordered a side of grits– the waitress urged him to order something more to eat and so she put in for a bowl of grits not a normal cup. The kitchen staff (which we could see from our table was hateful and stared at us throughout our visit from the kitchen in particular a young woman working at the kitchen window) decided to be Smart-Assy and sent out the BIGGEST mixing bowl of grits I have ever seen it was absolutely Ridiculous and my husband found no humor in this stunt! The bowl measured at least 12 inches across. So we sent that back for a cup of grits and they were VERY STIFF I had also gotten grits as a side…. we had gotten there as they were opening and it was very clear the grits were not done so my husband asked for a little milk or cream so he could mix it a little to try and make them a little less stiff so he could eat them, we were told they had no milk and no cream in the restaurant! We paid for the full tickets… well over $60.00 and we tipped our waitress as it was not her fault it was ALL THE KITCHEN staff. We will not be visiting this Shrimp Basket in Bay Minette ever again!

Food, good. Service, Awesome! The bathroom situation, unfortunate. Recommend this place because the food is good, but also because my experience with everything around this area is complete trash! I’ve tried pretty much everything here (the in-laws lived in town) and nothing compares with the service and quality you will receive here.

I travel about 90 miles round trip to eat here. Just to eat. It’s that good. I had the “all you can eat” catfish, onion strings, and fries. Good price good food good service goodness gracious I will hurry back.

Bay minette more than enough people working, looked to be 3 waitresses working and 3. Cook’s in the kitchen, and one person at the counter, we were seated right away drink order taken, 15 minutes later still no drinks, no service only 3 tables of two people already eating and one table of four eating, third time this has happened WANT be back
