A bit run down but stopped in the old home town on our trip for old times sake. Seemed pricey and out of a lot of menu choices – must have been busy in another room. Nice that they offer local craft beer and the staff was friendly.

I am very happy with everything. I would give 5 stars on all aspects. Seating and accommodations were quiet and clean, service was exceptional, food was delicious. Food of course needs more, it was fresh, crab was crackable by hand means that it has not sat in a steam pot all day. It was fresh and tasty. Fried shrimp and scallops had fresh flavor that needed no dipping in sauce of any kind. Well worth a stop.

We arrive at 6pm on a Saturday night. The hostess said there would be a wait because she and the bartender were the only staff for the remainder of the evening. The manager was not on-site. No clarity about being informed. No sense of urgency about getting enough staff on-site. She was looking forward to making all of the tips. Our party of 8 decided to not endure the dining experience and left for another restaurant. We’re never going back.

Took my wife and family there last night it was my wife’s birthday and she loves seafood.. totally disappointed with the food. one would expect that they would be serving fresh seafood and not that pre-breaded frozen stuff.

So this place has bad reviews. I’m here to set the record straight by saying that in my personal opinion, the bad reviews couldn’t be more far off. I’m not from Delaware but am a new employee to a company in Dover, and this review is based off of other dining experiences I’ve had working throughout the country.

I am originally from Dover so Shuckers Pier is a local favorite. The price and portions are reasonable. The taste was excellent. 3 people ate for under $40. The hamburger meal was a happy hour menu special. Not sure why there was a little wait to be seated when there was plenty of empty tables. Maybe cause only had small staff. We solved that issue by going to the bar side and sat in a booth.

The food is not seasoned and is VERY bland. I was a bit skeptical coming here after reading the reviews, but I’d thought to give them a try. Boy, do I regret it! I ordered the skewered grilled shrimp ( no flavor) and the vegetable medley that had some kind of red glaze. I never return my food, but the taste was so bad that I had to. The cream of crab soup, salad and rolls were delicious. I will never come back here again.

It feels like you stepped back into 1982. Everything about it is tired. The servers move like they’re exhausted and don’t care. The food is below mediocre. This place has been around forever and it shows. People go here Only because they been going here for 20 years. There are WAY better places in Dover. There is never a manager around, and the staff just kind of runs the place in auto pilot. My suggestion: Pass. I truly truly do not know how they are still in business.

Let’s start with the drinks… the bloody Mary and Fornam Copper on tap were wonderful, but I was dying of thirst before they actually got to the table. We were given cornbread at our table right before our food actually arrived. The cornbread was great, very delicious. At a table of four… we got Gnocchi with oven roasted chicken in Alfredo sauce… the chicken was dry but the rest of the meal was good. The mini ravioli with crab meat was just three ravioli for 9 dollars… it didn’t taste like there was any crab meat in there and the oil, garlic and wine sauce was bland. The rockfish sandwich was completely over done and tasted like cardboard and there was barely any fish on the sandwich, no condiments and there was a lot more roll than fish. The chicken tenders were crispy and good so I guess they can do good fried food. We spent TWO hours for the whole ordeal and I would say it is not worth it. Skip this place if you are looking for somewhere good.
