If you like oysters, Shucks Tavern is the go to restaurant. It is a small menu, but it is full of flavor. Service is outstanding. Our server Veronica made us feel like we are regulars.

Shucks was such an amazing experience. My husband got a sampler of the fresh oysters, and they described all of their sauces in detail. He truly enjoyed the variety of both the oysters and the sauces! I’m not a raw oyster girl myself, but I did try the sauces and they were phenomenal. The bloody Mary was delicious and wholly decked out, and this seafood gumbo was so so good. Some of the best I’ve had in my life. even if the food had been so-so, the service was so good I’d be back for that alone.

I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could. Amazing oysters, fabulous service, and great atmosphere. Olga was wonderful and so warm, friendly, and accommodating. We will be back every time we visit Galveston and highly recommend if you love oysters, seafood, gumbo, or just cocktails!

Had three dozen oysters with incredible sauces, bacon wrapped shrimp cooked to perfection and outstanding gumbo. Being there with four kids, our waitress, Olga, was patient and accommodating. Loved our experience. Best oyster bar in Galveston.

Perfect dinner experience at Shucks Tavern and Oyster Bar. I had a few friends recommend this place to me. The food was fabulous. The place offers different kinds of oysters. We got a dozen East Coast oysters, they were amazing and fresh. Plus the Oysters Rockefeller were delicious. The Aguachile a Mexican dish made with shrimp had a nice presentation, great texture and flavor with a kick of serrano peppers. The Blackened Snapper was amazing. The fish was perfectly blackened with a delicious cream sauce on the side. The atmosphere and decor were very nice. We will definitely be back. PS the staff was great.
