The environment and service of this place was amazing. It’s is also in a walkable area. We ordered the P1 and the P2. The pho broth was great and the meat tasted pretty premium. The place was super clean and the server who greeted us and took our orders was friendly and super attentive. We ended up leaving eating everything there. We are at 11 and there wasn’t many people there which was nice. This place is definitely worth a chance if your in the area and want to eat lunch or dinner you should definitely try this place. Highly recommend. They also have outdoor dining which is nice.

I went here with my mom and girlfriend for a special Mother’s Day lunch. We had a fantastic time trying out different dishes and enjoying the flavors of Vietnam. Here’s what we loved about our experience:

This is a more upscale version of your typical Pho restaurant. I think the food is good. The pho noodles are thinner and round, not flat. They are plenty of choices. The price point is higher but so is the restaurant and service.

My GF who is Vietnamese and I went for lunch. She is a vegetarian and found plenty of options…she commented how flavorful her veggie broth was in her pho, and I really enjoyed my seafood pho. We also had the salted plum soda and shared the banh xeo. It was the first time for me having banh xeo, and oh my, I absolutely loved it..all so delicious! Service was excellent, and we will definitely be back!!

Food was good but like most other pho places. Not overwhelmed by it. Staff is super friendly. Prices are expensive. Haven’t spent so much for pho at all

Sidestreet Pho serves authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a small restaurant on Encinal near Park St in Alameda. The Nguyen Family creates outstanding dishes that reflect what owner Hahn enjoyed as a child in Saigon. Pho is a staple amongst the many dishes but anything ordered off their menu is a culinary delight. Garlic noodles, spring rolls, garlic wings and shaken beef are my favorites and at a recent event for the Boys & Girls Club, Sidestreet Pho introduced a Vietnamese street taco that had people lining up to try. It was the perfect amount of beef, cheese and crunch that came with Vietnamese salsa and a Pho dipping broth. It was memorable and showcased the families desire to give back as they helped the Boys & Girls of Alameda.
