I moved to Georgetown three years ago and I work so much I rarely have time to do anything else but after a very long night of working I realized I hadn’t eaten in almost 24 hours. I was really hungry but I didn’t want anything that tasted like it came from a “chain restaurant “ so I said a little prayer and took off for a place called “Simmer Down Cafe”. My prayers were answered. I entered a charming establishment where I was greeted by a very polite young man who sat me at my preferred choice.. a booth. I ordered a two egg breakfast which came right away and to my delight was perfect. My eggs cooked exactly as I had asked along with my crispy hash browns and a delicious ham steak. These days it’s so rare to find a place that has it all. From great customer service to delicious food cooked perfectly Simmer Down Cafe does not disappoint. On the contrary. This place is the reason people go out to eat. Thank you for a delicious breakfast. My only criticism is that I should’ve come here sooner!

Enjoyable experience. Great food. Friendly service. I ordered the Strawberry Spinach Salad without realizing it had bacon. I didn’t want to be a bother since it was my oversight so I picked the bacon off. Our server saw this and just brought out a new salad. He was also on point with the drink refills and checking out Gluten Friendly menu choices for me. Everyone there is super helpful. The place was pretty busy and still ran smoothly. Will definitely visit again!

This place has seriously gone down hill. We waited for about 10 minutes to be seated, but the peeps in front of us were there about 17 . (Here’s your sign )

Service from hostess is great, but I think the wait staff is inexperienced. Took awhile to get them to give attention. The food was great, and the best fried chicken I had in a long time. Price was reasonable for brunch buffet.

Delicious. Love their Sunday breakfast Buffett. They have everything from Mac n cheese to chicken dumplings to French toast. Very friendly staff, usually quickly seated.

This is a local gem. Their breakfast is so good. Sunday is an all you can eat buffet + some order items like biscuits and gravy pancakes. The staff is so nice. Prices are very good. The biscuits and gravy are like grandma made. Must try if you get the opportunity.

The meal was good. Tipical Cafe breakfast items, everything I ordered was good. The server was attentive. I was there with a couple of friends, and we were there talking and never felt rushed. We plan to meet there for breakfast again.

Adorably and eclectically decorated place. We were greeted by the owner, Terri, who sat us and explained the buffet (we came on a Sunday). Everything was absolutely delicious!! Our server, Jess, was very sweet and took care of us. We will definitely back, despite it being about a 35 min drive from our home — my husband and I loved it!

We always go for Brunch at 9 because it gets good and crowded by 10. Food is always spot on and wonderful. Why the 2 Star review? The service is just awful. The young kids who are the servers seem to be typical of young servers – they don’t want to be there and they let you know you it through body language and attitude. We had to ask the wonderful ladies that work there for our drinks, our pancakes and anything else we needed. We saw our server 3 times, once after he was told by the manager to bring us drinks, once after he was told by the manager to offer us pancakes, and once when he dropped off the check. The straw that finally broke this customer’s back was when we asked him for butter for our pancakes and were told they were out… and before we left, the table next to us was told the same thing but they persisted and asked one of the wonderful ladies that work there for some butter and they were brought butter. Sad. I hate to say we won’t be coming back because this really is one of the best Sunday Brunch restaurants around… but I can not guarantee we will return.

A hidden gem! Super fun dining venue. They transport you back to 1950 dining. Veggie omelet was delicious especially with adding jalapeños and holding the bell peppers. Grits were tastey even plain. Waitress was a sweetheart.
