If you are by any chance in Wythevile, VI , you should try the local specialty > Skeeter’s world famous Hot Dog. The place is located on the center opposite to Bolling Wilson Hotel. There are open only from 11.00 to 15.00! So plan Your trip properly. I recommend “build-your-own” option, so you can pick exactly what u like!

While in Wytheville, VA one of the first things we did was stopped into “Skeeters” for a “Skeeter Dog” Ranked in the Top 64 Hot Dogs in America in “Everyday with Rachael Ray” Magazine, we had to have one! It was great!!! The building is a simple corner joint that has nostalgia galore! Sold for a nickel back in the day, the price has changed, but the hot dogs are the same! A fun (and yummy) stop!

This historic eatery is the perfect place to enjoy an All American Hot Dog! The layout and decor hasn’t changed much and there are lots of antique items to enjoy looking at. The hot dogs arrive on a perfectly toasted bun. Small Town Main Street America lives on at Skeeter’s!

This is exactly what you would hope for when you walk into a vintage diner. There were many types of dogs on the menu. We tried 3 and enjoyed them all. The sides are generous, the service was attentive, and the price was great. The historical mementos are a definite plus. We would definitely go back.

This is the cutest hotdog shop. It’s almost 100 years old. It’s full of antique memorabilia from the area. Employees were super nice and the hotdogs didn’t disappoint. We had skeeter dogs and a basket of fries.

Had the slaw dog which was good, the fries were really good, a bit crispy on the outside and not mushy on the inside. The staff is friendly and the food reasonably priced. The seating could use some updating, rather uncomfortable and worn. Maybe there is a point to that!
