Went for lunch yesterday off of a recommendation from a friend. Food was excellent especially for the price. Had spicy fried whiting (seasoned to perfection, nicely portioned), greens were dare I say perfect, fries nice and crispy and soft on inside, mac and cheese tasty but I prefer a fully baked option, banana pudding good (I’d like more cookies though).Service outstanding, I enjoyed the music selection, atmosphere was clean, we were seated and eating hot fresh food within 8-10 minutes tops. Only issue I could mention is that the chairs seemed a little small other than that I highly recommend this spot and will be returning for sure! Thank you!

Food is way too expensive for what you get. Shrimp was over cooked until it was dry. It takes 2-3 minutes to fry shrimp. Fried okra needs some help. Very bland. I thought I was getting catfish fillets but the serve strips,,,, I think. I’ve never seen catfish curl up like perch. I enjoyed the iced tea though.

Five stars for customer service! First time there. Several different fish options for sandwiches. I meant to order the flounder, and when the really tall guy in the kitchen (did not catch his name) came out to the dining room and asked how our food was, he offered to make me a new one without me asking. It was delish. That made my day – it’s the little things! Now for the food in general – I am from a coastal state where I lived on the coast, and it’s been really, really difficult to find decent “fast food” seafood in Charlotte. No, it’s not fresh catch – but it’s by far the best I’ve found in the area. The atmosphere is also very chill. Great prices and portions. Will definitely return. Thank you.

Cute place. They were short-handed, and the pop machine was broke. We waited 30 mins for food, but it was really delicious. I’d go back just based on the food. A lot of people were picking up carry outs, and I think they knew the trick to getting around the slow service.

Can’t believe we had never come here before. Amazing sandwiches, very generous with the amount, cooked to order, comes out hot and non of our fried items were greasy. Delicious. Will come here again to try other things. The ONLY negative is that they are not very warm and fuzzy and all about business but that’s ok when your quality is that great.

I previously shared a negative experience specifically with regard to ordering food from here through Grubhub. I want to update my review. After my negative review, the owner of the company and management reached out to me and immediately resolved the situation and made things right. That alone was impressive. They went above and beyond. Today, I ordered catfish and was not disappointed. The food is absolutely delicious – it’s fresh and and tastes amazing. The portion sizes are unbelievably large. If you get a chance to eat here – do it – you won’t regret it. Highly recommend Skrimp Shack!! Well done 🙂
