The spring rolls are good but wish there were more maybe 4 per appetizer instead of 3. Onion soup good, miso soup standard so good, salad with ginger dressing good, hibachi is okay the chicken was a bit dry, the veggies were good and rice good as well. I enjoyed it overall and would come back. The service was good as well everyone friendly and i think the prices are good as well. Its 17 and change for hibachi but comes with soup and salad as well so i think it was worth it.

Had the Volcano Roll. They definitely meet my expectations. An amazing and fresh sushi roll. The Miso soup was warm and had great ingredients. And they were able to make a wonderful cocktail to pair with it all! Definitely will be back for more delicious food.

We love Sky and visit almost once a week, especially ever since new management took over in July. The staff is always so warm and welcoming and our food is always perfect. The owners also always come around to say hello and treat us like family. The sushi chefs put so much thought and energy into our meal each time. Would definitely recommend!

I ordered through UberEats which sometimes is tricky because some stores don’t bother looking at the order requests. I asked for very well done chicken (texture thing) and they seared it perfectly! I was so pleased. Great taste, the veggies are the best hibachi style in the area hands down, and the order was promptly delivered.

Clean restaurant. Friendly staff. Only reason they didn’t get 5 stars – they didn’t have a Hawaiian roll on the menu that I was craving. Everything we ordered was awesome. Also had fried cheesecake which was great.

The service was excellent. The manager was so friendly. The sushi was fantastic. I tried the Rocky mountain roll with no crunchy and they carry gluten free soy sauce. My 7 year old ordered hibachi and loved it but also ended up eating his own little tuna roll.

Has been fresh every time our family has visited. It’s definitely not your average Japanese restaurant. The chili flavored fries are delicious and the sushi selections meets most of my expectations. One thing that is my personal preference: I don’t like that they took my glass to a back room somewhere to refill my water. I prefer that they bring a carafe and fill my water with the same water they’re giving everyone else. That’s being petty, maybe, but the meals are good so that’s the only thing I could find to complain about. Overall, great place to meet up with friends and family.

Anyone familiar with me knows I am not your run-of-the-mill food critic. I have realistic expectations of waitstaff and very balanced expectations of food quality. I have however as a regular and very much frequent patron of this establishment come to expect a certain quality of both food and service of which was sub par this evening. Before we discount this establishment however let me iterate a few recent changes to Sky. On 7 july 2022 Sky Modern Japanese opened under new management and an entirely new staff. As of today this restaurant has only had 2 solid days of new operating continuity. As such this scathing review only reflects this restaurant as a newborn establishment and I take this into account and am eager and hopeful to witness its re-growth to my previous 5 star ratings prior to the management regime change. So to quantify my 3 star rating for this evening’s experience I would first like to begin by pointing out the eagerness and professionalism of my great server Alex this evening. As he is new here to Sky I afford understanding to his lack of familiarity with menu items and names as well as uncertainty of item availability so for this I only say practice and repititon makes perfect. The menu items and availability has changed, however items that have been commonplace until now, even as of my most recent visit, are suddenly noted to be “unavailabe in Arkansas” (Uni is what I speak of) maybe simply due to a lack of supply ordering continuity by new management. As for food quality I have no gripes in taste, however as sushi is supposed to include an element or simplicity and minimalism I was disappointed to find my Chirashi dish was adorned/garnished with an entire full salad worth of lettuce and greens, thus complicating an otherwise dish. Finding my sashimi among the greens reminded me of beating the bushes to flush rabbits out as a child. However I digress, I expect the potential of this new management to someday return this restaurant to is former 5 star glory and anticipate my return to be proved right.

We’ve never been to Sky Japanese restaurant though we frequent other businesses in this area. When we heard that Dessy & Ferry (who also own Samu, one of our longtime favorite places) took over management of Sky Modern Japanese, OF COURSE, we had to come and sample the cuisine. We were not disappointed. Sky has sushi, sashimi and hibachi that is as beautiful to look at as it is wonderful to eat. The ambience is also pleasing and the staff is always friendly and attentive.
