I’m slapping myself for going. Waited nearly 5 minutes standing at the counter to order because there was a problem with someone’s credit card. Finally ordered. I got the fish bowl with grilled cod, and my husband got the fish and chips. Somehow, the people who ordered after us got their food first. After about 20 minutes, our food arrived. My cod was overcooked and dried out. Half of the bowl was filled with rice and the other half with lettuce. The proportions were not balanced. When I asked my husband how his fish was, he said he’s had worse. He ate the fish and left the fries. They were cold and undercooked. All this plus 2 glasses of wine for $45 bucks! Needless to say, one and done.

We’re a quirky little family with high standards. After waiting in traffic for an hour we decided to turn into the closest seafood place. How lucky were we to end up in SLAPFISH. The menu was full with innovative dishes: sustainable sea food balanced with grilled and fresh veggies, sauces with a kick, amidst exemplary service and amazing fish friends hanging from the wall and providing company for you as you eat the delicious meals.

We have spent some days on the island, and without a doubt Slapfish was the best meal we have had here, by far. The menu was impressive, the ingredients were fresh, respected, and cooked to perfection. We had the power bowl and the crab and lobster grilled cheese, which I couldn’t recommend more. We loved this little place as it was cute inside, and very seafood forward. The cooks did an excellent job and the young woman at the front counter was very helpful and friendly. We look forward to making the drive back to Slapfish as soon as possible.

If you’re a seafood lover, Slapfish is a must-try. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff. But it was the food that stole the show.

It’s Giving diary uh. The shrimp bowl was ______(rice heavy adjectives). The epic shrimp burrito was lopsided. The first half was shrimpy but the second half was all spinch. I miss my buddy Casper. May he rest in peace or on the couch or on the bed. He isn’t dead but I know he will pass eventually like all living things. I will be so sad when the day comes. Until then I’ll just keep making him little cozy spots for him to take naps.

Stopped here for lunch and glad we did! Food was delicious and very reasonably priced for the island. We had the fried pickles with the spicy dipping sauce for an appetizer – the pickles were tart and stayed nice and crispy. My wife had the shrimp roll (grilled shrimp, they also offered fried shrimp) with a side of French fries, and I had an enormous crispy fish taco. Both were fresh and delicious. Slapfish has a big focus on sustainability and a board in the restaurant lists the fish choices available. The staff were friendly and service was very prompt. We will definitely return on future visits!

Everyone who worked in this restaurant was angry or just not friendly except for this one nice guy. The girl who took our order was almost rude and annoyed. The lobster roll was phenomenal but very small. It’s maybe like 9 bites but excellent flavor. Market price was $34 when we were there. We also had the lobster taquitos which were also excellent (10/10 – get these!) the shrimp roll was maybe (7/10) because it was just shrimp on a bread roll; nothing else on it. Fish taco was fair at best (4/10) and fried soft shell crab (6/10). We chose this restaurant because the prices seemed reasonable but after dinner there, we realized it’s just really small portions and we were still hungry after spending $94 on 3 of us. We won’t be back to this one which is kind of a bummer. We had high hopes and this would’ve been maybe a 3 star if the ladies who worked there were even slightly friendly or the portions were average.

Quality of food is excellent. Price is very fair for what you get, I would even say it is a deal. Very friendly staff even came out of kitchen to ask if everything was good. Service was quick. I had the grilled shrimp salad which had several large shrimp on top. Greens were fresh and yummy. My husband had the 2 piece fish and chips which was cooked to order. We know this because the fish was very hot. Highly recommend.

This was an all around enjoyable experience. Zack, who I believe is the owner, waited on my husband and I and was very helpful and friendly. We ordered the shrimp ceviche as an appetizer and we’re not disappointed! The light tomato base complimented the chunky shrimp perfectly, and the shrimp were NOT rubbery or chewy; they were cooked just right! I especially liked that it was served like chips and salsa, giving it that special starter feel. We got the lobster rolls as our meal, and trust me when I say the market price is more than worth it! The lobster was EXPERTLY prepared. So often we find lobster is over cooked at restaurants, but this lobster was such a perfect consistency: meaty but not chewy and FULL of flavor. The buttery bread was fluffy with a nice crunch on the outside. This complimented the lobster well as the butter drizzled out of the bread onto the lobster. My mouth is watering as I picture it now! We will definitely be returning next time we visit! Thank you, Zack, for a wonderful experience, and great job running this business! We were very impressed.

Starting from the beginning, the wonderful cashier/waitress Neltoya is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and kind. The food is outstanding, chain or not the Chef/owner is in the back putting his best foot forward. I highly recommend this place!
