Came here on a Monday night for our first time. We ordered the edamame and honey bread to start. Both were really good. Edamame comes out hot. My wife ordered the shrimp and pancetta pasta, I ordered the chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans and . My oldest daughter ordered the rainbow rolls. I ordered the chicken to share with my youngest but it was really delicious. I tried the pasta and it was rich and savory. The rainbow rolls were really good too. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying something new next time

The food was so good. The loaded mashed potatoes are to die for. The regular Mac and cheese was so creamy and everything tasted fresh. The desserts all sounded really good but I got the cake and the red velvet creme brulee.

Went here almost on a whim with my mom and brother. I’ll start by saying I’ve been to some absolutely fabulous steakhouses. This was awesome. The atmosphere is very shiek and modern but not over the top.

Expensive for the location (strip mall next to highway 101) and for the food quality. Our server, Teri, was excellent, though. She definitely made the evening more enjoyable.

Well, we used to enjoy ordering from Slate. Now, the hours keep changing (slowly, but it’s not reliable). Worse, ordering online has become a big problem. It’s Sunday evening. And you cannot place an online order – that’s only available again on Monday. Tried calling in – reservation line dumps to a voicemail, and option #5, that’s says, “Talk to a human.”…? You just sit on the line with music playing. Over 10 minutes and no human. The message is crystal clear: we believe doing take out is beneath us and if you want take out, go elsewhere. OK. Done. And $33 for a plate of pasta? I’m sorry, Slate was an awesome place when launched. Now, I’d simply never recommend them to anyone. Food is good, but not worth jumping through hoops and overpaying.

I really enjoyed myself here! The vibe was chill and the food was pretty good. I got the filet mignon and it was so buttery and just overall great! It comes with mashed potatoes and green beans and you get to pick between two sauces to go with the filet. I can’t remember which one I chose though. I will say I do with the mashed potatoes was more flavorful and the green beans needed to be seasoned and cooked a bit longer.

Love love love the ambiance! Anyone who enjoys feeling the city vibe (chandeliers and outdoor fireplaces) will love this place. And they have happy hour! Recommend the Elixir, bone marrow garlic bread and Korean bbq cauliflower.

I have been to Happy Hours from the Valley to Ventura, and by far the best Happy Hour and restaurant is here in my own backyard. Slate Bistro in Camarillo. From first entering, to being seated, to taking your order, and getting your drinks and food it was all a 5 star plus. My pineapple Margarita was amazing, not just a bunch of mix, you could actually taste the alcohol. Leo, who constantly fills your water, with a smile, and Teri, the server, who always greets you, is so sweet, cheerful, and thourough. Oh and prompt too. Checks on you throughout your time there to make sure you are ok or if you need something else. THE FOOD is outstanding, beautiful presentation, hot, and delicious. When was the last time the manager came to your table to see how everything was. His name is Dale, he actually engages with you. Maybe more restaurants should check this place out and see what is going on here. Good food, good service and just a great atmosphere. I will be back. Bummer I didnt take any pictures.

First time we’ve been. Great service, a well kept bar (Happy Hour 4-6pm), and wine selection (mostly CA central coast). We all ate the Wed eve prime rib special which comes medium-rare. Ask for salt. Ordered a blue wedge salad which comes with ranch + blue cheese crumbles; ask for blue cheese dressing instead. It was very nice.
