I went here in the afternoon with a group. I ordered the Quesa Birria tacos which came with rice and beans. The rice and beans were pretty bland and the Quesa Birria didn’t taste authentic but I enjoyed eating it nonetheless. The atmosphere for this place was great and I also appreciated the service. The price point for the food is a little on the expensive side for what you get, but I would recommend this restaurant as a good hand out spot.

From the very beginning, we were greeted with such kind smiles ☺️ the customer service 10/10 and the tacos we got quesa birria, blackened shrimp, tuna poke, and jerk chicken chef’s kiss! It was all so delicious definitely coming back

Had a great time at this restaurant in Regency mall. Fairly new, going to be opening up a rooftop in the next month, which I’m looking forward to. The food was fresh and delicious. However I concur with other reviewers that the portions are fairly small so if you have a big appetite may not be for you. The drinks from the bar were very underwhelming, very light on alcohol. However the service is great and the ambience is awesome. With that said, can’t wait to go back. My wife said the tacos were the best she’s ever had. I had the carne asada and I thoroughly enjoyed it although I wish there was more. They have rolled up doors at the front to let fresh air in and to increase the outdoor atmosphere.

We stopped in for lunch today and had a fantastic experience! Our server Morgan and even the owner Garland were so welcoming and made us feel right at home in this gorgeous island-style restaurant! I felt like I was in the Caribbean among the nautical decor with even a beautiful wood sailing sloop hanging from the ceiling. The Chips Trio and Quesadilla were fresh, delicious and so plentiful I even took away a Doggie Box for dinner. This is our new favorite “Go to” in Richmond! You’ll not be disappointed- Guaranteed!

Great place to come enjoy dinner with friend. Food was good just wish they offered more sauces. Four because the waiter was overwhelmed and it showed. He was a bit frustrated and effect his work I feel like. Other than that everything else was amazing I will be back for the tacos.

Honestly, nah. I love Mexican so this is difficult for me but it was a truly 1 star experience. Taco Tuesday right? but the menu is limited on the rooftop bar, which is where everyone would want to be. Forced to dine downstairs with the rest of the peasants, would have been fine however, the margaritas were disgusting, and the tacos were bearable. There were flies everywhere and my boyfriend had ordered three tacos but the waitress claimed she couldn’t ring in just three tacos and had to charge him for four tacos and give him four tacos which was not what he ordered. And again the tacos were not good and I love tacos. I am not happy leaving this review.

What a breath of fresh air added to the list of Richmond gourmet restaurants. Sloop:John B. Is a song by the Beach Boys; you can imagine the ambience and food by it is name. Interior design reflects the beach scene with room dividers made of surf boards and the eye catching bar with beautiful blue background.

Overall the atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is good. I ordered the MOJO tacos with corn tortillas. They came out and were raw and the filling just fell out and had to eat them from the taco carrier. No one seemed to care that the tortillas weren’t cooked, causing me to eat them with a fork.

Stopped in with my coworkers just to check out the roof top, the atmosphere was great! They had a live band and the crowd really came out. Ordered the chips & queso, which were extremely tasty, the chips are fresh, oversized and flaky, would love to try them with guac next time. Also had a jerk taco (at Garland’s insistence) had a little kick to it and it tasted delicious! Would highly recommend stopping in and checking it out.
