Went here because the Shake Shack at the airport has terrible reviews. The service was friendly but I only ate the food because I was hungry and had already paid. My smash fries were so oily that there was a good 1/3 of an inch of standing, cold grease when I got to the bottom. They were also way over seasoned for my liking. The burger was very small and had just too much ketchup (couldn’t taste the meat) + they put pickles in there after I asked them not to. They were out of milk to make shakes when I went around 11am on a Saturday. They get 2 stars only bc the young lady at the cash register was very professional.

This cashier is the nastiest person I’ve just about met. She doesn’t speak, looks at you with that I DONT WANT TO BE HERE look. She kept rolling her eyes at every customer. Asking what you want to a few of us. Holding her head and shaking it if you order more than what’s on your burger or need to make changes, she huffed and puffed so much I thought she’d blow the airport down. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. The sweet potato fries taste like they’re cooked in airplane fuel.

Arrived at the location at around 5:20 PM. Long line which is not a concern. The operation, though, was poorly run. The associate taking orders was slow and had no urgency. She proceeded to take 8-10 orders in a row without fulfilling any orders as they came completed from the kitchen. I was next in line when she disappeared into the kitchen to then assemble the backlog of orders waiting to be given out. After getting all of those orders out she came back to take my order which started the misery of taking an extended amount of orders in a row without fulfilling any. A 2nd associate came out and helped take orders too. It was 6:14 PM until I was able to even ordered. After I and the 10-12 guest behind me order, they then went all back into the kitchen to assemble the orders. As they started to call out completed orders mine was no where to be found. After waiting for over and an hour and seeing the 10 others order behind me get fulfilled, I went back to counter and requested a refund. At that point I was met with disrespect and attitude that I was the problem. No apologies given, no accountability taken. The manager refunded my money but had no level of leadership to understand or own what happened. Worst experience at a restaurant in my life.

The most inefficient operation I’ve ever seen. Took 20 minutes to order. My order was sitting in the window for 10 minutes before I got it. The lady at the front desk is slow and very bad at multitasking. Would advise to eat elsewhere. It would be faster to walk to the other end of the airport and come back.

Waiting for my flight and aside from a brewery this was the only food spot nearby. I’ve never had it before. Menu looked ok, a little heavy and high calories. There was 3 people working, two in the back, one lady in the front. But the lady cashier kept going away from the register to the back while the line behind grew longer. Many awkward moments of customers wondering if they would get their food or even place their order because she would disappear. The cashier came out and saw the longer line and rolled her eyes and said “jesssssusssss! I’m going home if it stays like this all day!” I could tell she wasn’t happy but it’s her job to serve food…so I tried giving her an encouraging “I’m sorry you’re stressed, I hope your day gets better” and she just shook her head and said Thank you. I ordered 3 piece chicken tenders (bc I was scared to get anything that would take a long time) and they only gave me 2 pieces. Decided not to complain because they all looked like they weren’t having the best day. Sadly, I would not return to Smashburger in CLT airport because of this experience. Seems like they may need to hire more workers or have a pep talk to their employees about customer service and professionalism.
