I was at Smaxx few years back after spending a few hours at the museum. Walked in and got my Buffalo chicken wrap and a slushy and sat down and had a ball. Tons of friendly folks, we talked about living in different cities. Everyone was super chill and just out to have fun. The food and slushees are awesome. The service and staff are awesome. I miss this place cause Philly don’t have much like it and you can easily hop on a bird and get to anywhere.

If you want REAL food, come here. I got the fish platter and it was the best tasting meal I’ve had…period. The staff were funny and nice. My next visit to KC will include stopping here for the fish. It was so much food I couldn’t even finish it, the lid wouldn’t even close. I’ve spent much more for much less, and not as tasty, food elsewhere. Thank you, Smaxx, for a wonderful experience.

Located in the historic 18th & Vine area, this is my second time and not my last. My burger was fresh, seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The brisket burger with excellent, plus I added lettuce, extra pickles, and mushrooms which made it phenomenal. Worth the wait and every last bite. I also enjoyed looking at different photographs of Kansas city’s history.

I think this place is for getting drunk. My family and I suffered through some pre-diabetic salty, pre-frozen fish fry on Friday and weren’t able to eat our burger because it was incredibly salty as well. Not good.
