It is not a dine in place. You order and pick up from a window. I got the idea of trying out this place from a friend and ordered their Grilled Chicken Salad. It had a lot going on but in a great way! Aside from greens, it had the grilled chicken (very tasty by the way), croutons, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, guacamole on the side and topped with sprouts. Then it came with a generous amount of what I believe was Oriental dressing. It was Awesome and totally something I would go back for again. They also have a menu full of various types of foods to pick from that makes me wanna come back and try. Check them out!!

Saw the great reviews and decided to try. So disappointed there was no cheesecake available. Boo! We both got the chicken teriyaki. It was good, but I don’t care for dark meat or skin left on the chicken. Sauce was good, as were the rice and macaroni salad. Took a bit of a wait.

Our last night in Kauai, and we found the best food on the island. Literally inhaled every bite, it was some of the most flavorful, authentic, worth every penny kind of food. We ordered at the window and ate on our tailgate with our kiddos who also were thoroughly impressed. We had the Loco Moco, Smileys chicken, and an incredible combo plate. We can’t wait to come back next year! 5 stars isn’t nearly enough..

We absolutely adored our meal at Smiley’s! They were recommended by the Na Pali Pirates and it was just the perfect post-boat trip food. We got the pork and Smiley’s chicken combo plate and the loco moco – definitely don’t forget the mac salad! Everything was so delicious, we can’t wait to go back already!

This is a take out only restaurant. Customer service was excellent. Ordered the garlic shrimp took it bak to hotel smelled great. Shrimp were prepared in a light batter and covered with minced garlic. Macaroni salad was good. Tasted shrimp and discovered they were totally covered in a full shell. Was so disappointed and frustrated with this meal. I want be returning or recommending.

My family and I showed up here hoping to have a sit down meal, and were shocked to discover that they have turned the dining area into an order window. You can no longer eat inside (or even enter inside) but instead must order at a take-out window! No doubt this is a hold-over from COVID but the info on Google was outdated as it showed indoor dining tables as an option. Don’t make the same mistake as me!

This local place was recommended by our rental car company. There’s no inside seating but the food was amazing. We ate in our car and the plate lunches were excellent. Teriyaki chicken and a garlic chili chicken were the two plates we bought. We wish they would provide more macaroni salad, but it was excellent food! Definitely where the locals eat.

I came here because of all the good reviews, but I was disappointed with the food. I ordered the Kalua Moco, thinking it would taste the same as regular Loco Moco, but the gravy was bland and the pork meat didn’t taste good. I also ordered lomi salmon and sauteed mushroom as sides. The lomi salmon was too salty and the sauteed mushroom was too oily. My friend ordered Loco Moco, and she was not impressed by it either. There were many people ordering takeout around 8 PM, so I guess the restaurant must have something good to be able to stay open for 16 years. I would recommend perhaps ordering something else and also calling ahead to place the order so you don’t have to wait for the food outside.
