We stopped at Smithfield’s on the way to the beach. It was really good. We were really hungry and just bought a plate to split, I guess our stomachs shrank. We got the BBQ plate with cole slaw, hush puppies and fries and a sweet tea. I didn’t have to wait in line for too long. They took my order quickly and the food came out quick as well. The BBQ is so good. The sweet tea was perfectly sweet. We ate our plate and were able to get right on the road. They had high chairs and they even had a sink outside of the bathroom, I liked that I didn’t have to go into the bathroom to wash my hands. The tables were all clean. They also have a drive thru. We’ve stopped at Smithfield’s a few times on the way to the beach. We will be back.

I paid $26 for a shrimp and chicken plate with slaw and stew. All I got was two forkfuls of shrimp and 4 hushpuppies! No chicken, no sides! I’d have left ZERO stars if it were possible! Never again! And I can’t even post a picture of this horrendous meal! Shame on you and your staff!!!!

Great service, great atmosphere. I wasn’t super impressed with the food; I think I was over-hyped to it and should have expected less from a major chain. Strips were large, way bigger than expected, so that is great but it lacked flavor via spices. Hush puppies were good, but also lacked flavor. Fried shrimp were tiny-tiny (underwhelming) but delicious. Barbecue sandwich w/slaw was good. Overall, my only complaint was a flavor pop, but that isn’t a negative.

This Smithfield is trash!! Please go to the one on Jones sausage road or on hwy 42 everytime I come to this one my order is wrong or just flat out nasty! Tonight I went to this one again against my wishes only because it was the closest one to me. The chicken I received had a nasty smoky taste too it as if it was cooked in old burned Grease. Also the potatoes salad they gave me was basically mush and I had one extremely large potatoe in it and the baked beans tasted as though they were straight out the can no barbecue or anything in it! And don’t get me started on the most disgusting banana pudding i have ever had!! The whole meal was completely inedible!! I promise you this is the last time I am eating at this place

Absolutely horrible. The young lady at the drive thru took the order correctly. The employee that fixed the order screwed it up not once, not twice but three times. Already planning to call whoever top management is on Wednesday. I was so looking forward to that meal. There isn’t one near me and I was excited to be passing one on my way back home. Here is a pic of the fries that were old and cold. I was at the drive thru. Ended up parking to return the sandwich three times. Hadn’t thought about checking the fries after dealing with the sandwich.

Been going here since they opened as I used to live right beside Lake Wheeler. Hate to say this but the last few times going here the Brunswick Stew taste off. I don’t know if they changed their recipe but something isn’t right about it. Please fix this. I’d greatly appreciate it. I mean it’s the least you can do for the price you’ve been charging for it.

The food, especially the pulled pork bar-b-q, is always good at Smithfield’s! I also love the thin fries they serve here. Smithfield’s also has some of the best vinegar-based bar-b-q sauce.
