We walked into a nicely decorated barbecue place on Cordell Avenue in Bethesda- first time never even heard of it before and apparently it’s been there 5 years. I like barbecue I like reasonably priced delicious barbecue.

I love everything about this place! Their food is always on point. I used to live in WV and visit North Carolina frequently and visited a lot of ma and pa bbq places and this place definitely is comparable if not better. The people that work there are always friendly and even when I order online my food taste fresh and comes quick. 10/10 would recommend if you’re looking for some good quality home cooking.

We dined in and it was so good. The mac and cheese was good and the pork was flavorful. Service was super fast and the food came out fresh too. Definitely get the barbecue bowl as it’s so good.

Not Texan approved. We ate there around 8 p.m on Sunday 5/7/23. Our food (brisket, sausage, ribs, scalloped potatoes) had clearly been sitting in a fridge and had been microwaved. They threw shredded cheese on the potatoes and microwaved them. Potatoes were still cold at the bottom. Nothing was fresh, no ice in the machine, server seemed high (Johnny?), and the sausage was cut up to make it appear like a bigger portion. The rest of the portions were pretty small for a $35 meal. As a hungry pregnant Texas woman craving some bbq, this left both my husband and I sad, still hungry, and a little worried about how long that food had been sitting around back in the kitchen. This was a slow night, too. I wouldn’t serve this food to my own family. Wish we had gotten a refund, but we were starving and tried to just put up with it. Just plain sad.

When the owner of this establishment begins to care this little gem could be profitable. Been here twice. Won’t return or recommend. I’m afraid of what the kitchen looks like because the food that comes out of it is not so great. One plus- they serve the coldest tap beer ever. Do better.

Smoke BBQ is everything you want in a dive bar. The food is fantastic! I recommend to build a bowl. I was worried I would screw it up, but the food is so good that it would be impossible.

The BBQ was on point! Great smokey flavor with tasty options to top with. I personally loved the spicy BBQ sauce. There’s a good selection of beers and drinks to pair nicely with the Q. Definitely want to go back and try the ribs.
