This place is hands down a hidden gem!! It’s a family owned business and they are all super nice and friendly!! The food is delicious!!! You can’t go wrong with anything you order!! We literally drive about 45 minutes just to eat there.. I would give it 10 stars actually, instead of 5!! Love it!!

This place is a hidden gem. Definitely off the beaten path, but worth the detour if your anywhere in between Macon and Atlanta. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. My husband ordered a burger with brisket on it and it was cooked just right with awesome flavor. I ordered a smoked bologna sandwich with fried egg and pimento cheese. Trust me, it sounds crazy, but it is the perfect combination of flavors!!! The service was impeccable. Southern hospitality at its finest.

Okay, so let me just say that I am very picky when it comes to my BBQ and it is hard to get 5 stars from me in this food group. Having owned a BBQ restaurant before and having 10 sauces of our own it can be hard to be impressed but this little place did just that. Smoke Friendly BBQ is really good and by far the best BBQ in Newton County and being honest its better than anything I’ve had in the surrounding areas of Newton, Rockdale, Henry and Morgan counties. The smoke flavor comes through with their meats from the pulled pork to the smoked chicken salad, right down to the amazing brisket tacos. I even tried the BIG Charlie that I am convinced should be world famous. That smoked bologna sandwich was AWESOME! Look don’t take my word for it, make the drive for yourself and taste the love and goodness they are serving up off HWY 212 in Newton County. Ragey and his staff are friendly and will welcome you in like family. You can even pick up a Georgia National Champion’s ring and GO DAWGS!

Here’s the thing. The food was good – we got a sampler so we could try everything. Worth the drive for the food, but what really got me was how sweet and personable the staff were. Just genuinely friendly and kind and helpful. Definitely going back.

Excellent food. I had the brisket tacos and my man had the brisket sandwich. The Mac n cheese was great. The young lady at the front counter had such a great smile and positivity that you don’t find many places now a days. Very welcoming environment. This will be a weekly occurrence for our family.

I don’t even like vinegar-based sauce but decided to try this place with my family today. It is definitely a Hidden Gem and some of the best barbecue I’ve eaten and again keep in mind I don’t like vinegar-based sauce however they do offer sweet based sauces. The mac and cheese was great and cheesy and the baked beans were really good and had a great flavor and the Brunswick Stew was phenomenal and my wife absolutely love the potato salad. I think the other selling point here is that they’re selling great food at a great price and I absolutely love the fact that their family owned and operated and is what I would call the definition of a mom-and-pop barbecue place we spoke with the owner and his daughters and they all were extremely nice and very laid-back I would give this place 10 Stars if I could. They have a great menu and I can’t wait to try some of the other meats they offer.

Last week we ate at Smoke Friendly BBQ and it was FANTASTIC. I had a “Big Charlie” Smoked Bologna Sandwich with American Cheese and a fried egg on Texas toast. Can I just say it will make you wanna smack your Granny. Delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Bob had double meat Plate with BBQ chicken and pork. He gave it a 10 out of 10. Even the sweet tea was perfect. We loved the GA Bulldog decor! The customer service was top notch. If you get a chance go visit. You won’t be disappointed. Congratulations Rogey and Staci Wilson.
