Great Traditional BBQ with a Cuban Twist. We had the Brisket (Fantastic) and the Ropa Vieja (smoked).Mac n Cheese was on point as well as the Cuban Beans and Rice. Definitely add the Rub to your food, very tasty. The 2 sauces they serve on the side were great. Dine-in or To go. We will definitely be back when craving BBQ. The owners were great. We had a great talk about their history starting as a Food Truck in Jersey City.

I have been to many a barbecue establishments in the Greater New York area. Smoke Odyssey has the potential to become a great barbecue powerhouse. At the moment they are new to the area and are developing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their smoking methods and spices. The menu is small but the available choices are good. But they have a hidden talent that has influenced me to change my 3/5 review into a 5/5. This talent is on full display when you walk in. The floors are immaculate, grease free, and truly a wonder to the world.

Great family owned traditional smoked BBQ restaurant. I’ve eaten just about everything on the menu and loved it all. All of the meats are beautifully cooked. Loaded Mac and cheese is amazing! You can’t go wrong with the menu. Paul is very helpful, courteous and kind. It’s a BYOB, cool atmosphere and awesome music. If you want kickass smoked BBQ in NJ look no further!

I was craving bbq for months and this place delivered. Brisket was nice and juicy. The Mac was super cheesy and nicely flavored. I really enjoyed the pickled onions, quite tangy but packed with flavor. Cornbread was nice but I do wish they served it warm. I def recommend this place when you need a BBQ fix handled.

The food was phenomenal. I appreciate them understanding their surrounding Latin demographic and incorporating sides that really pair well with their top quality choices of meats. But, stay true to what American bbq is.

Great tender, mouthwatering brisket. Excellent sides and service with a smile. What more does anyone need from their local BBQ joint? I’ve been here twice already and can say the food has been tasty, dependable and a great compensation for the loss of Red White and Que (which has moved to South Jersey). Show them some love. Go on!

The food was just alight. Both the cornbread and brisket were very dry and didn’t have all that much flavor. The burnt ends were more so soft and chewy rather than tender and crunchy. Although, staff was friendly and welcoming and made sure we had everything needed before eating.

This place had really good food, everything was well seasoned and had unique flavors because of the Cuban spices. I had the brisket, burnt ends (pork belly), loaded yuca tots, five cheese mac, and the beans and rice. For the brisket we got nice slices where it was juicy and had some fat on it. Really like the Cuban flavors and the beans & rice was well seasoned, the mojo was really good to mix with the BBQ and vinegar sauces. I don’t know why there are so many 1-star reviews saying the food was bland + disgusting, seems like hate posts because none of the food was bland (unless their food got better since they opened.) Finished a whole 1/2 lb. of brisket with all the other sides.

Ordered for the 1st time today. Had the ribs they were amazing (fall off the bone, meaty and so flavorful)! I wanted to try the chicken and the pull pork but they didn’t have today but happy I got the ribs. The mac and cheese was pretty good. I will definitely be back to try other items on their menu. The staff was very polite and friendly as well.
