The family and I just finished this phenomenal dinner. I’m from Florida and we just don’t have BBQ like this. I am stuffed full and I loved every bite. The pimento cheese is on a whole other level. My aunt makes a great pimento cheese but this was too good.

Atmosphere…? I suppose if you’re behind a diesel it’s not good. It’s drive through only, so in a sense it’s a good bbq atmosphere.

Being from West Tennessee where pulled pork rules the roost I have a legitimate critique about Smoke On BBQ. It’s a very respectable place … there were 7 vehicles waiting in the turn lane to get there food.

SO disappointed in Smoke On BBQ. We have been eating here since they started as a food truck and have always loved it. We drive from Atlanta to enjoy Brevard outdoors and then the highlight is always a meal from Smoke on. This weekend we got our usual Brisket sandwiches, but they were not at all what they normally are like. Instead of sliced brisket, it was chunks of what looked to be leftover fat trimmings. I knew something was off when I looked between the bun and it was cut up cubes instead of slices. Instead of slices of brisket, it was all fat with barely a hint of meat in the fat. I was SO very disappointed. I can’t believe they pulled this stunt – never expected them to serve something like this. If this is what they had served us the first time we ever ate there, we would checked them off the list and never gone back. We always recommend them to our friends and many have gone upon our suggestion. Our previous trip we took 3 friends with us. I would have been so embarrassed had our meals been like this. We would have gone back to complain about these “fat” sandwiches, but we were already into our drive back to Atlanta and I was just so dumbfounded. I couldn’t believe they passed these off as brisket sandwiches. Not sure what the explanation is, but now we’re shell shocked and not sure if we’ll be going back. Seriously, we drove 3 hours for this?!! Not anymore. Certainly will not be recommending them either. Shame on you, Smoke On.

From out of town and looking for a good meal late afternoon, my party followed the local reviews and ended up here on the west side of the main roads that go through Brevard. At 4PM, we pulled into a parking spot to review the menu and locate a park at which we could eat our food (as there is no dining area).

This is my favorite BBQ in all the world. Whenever I have family or friends from out of town I always take them here and everyone I have taken always insists on going back when they are in town. The portions are amazing for the price and my oh my, the brisket. I always get the KC Jones or the brisket tacos. Also the fluffernutter pie is to die for. I always get a couple so I can freeze one.

Aside from the coleslaw which is some of the best of ever had (It’s a mildly sweet, vinegar style that’s shredded, not chopped…which is exactly what I prefer) and having great fries, do yourself a favor and get the KC Jones brisket sandwich… simply one of the best f****** things I’ve ever eaten in my life. Also got a brisket plate just to eat more of the meat by itself, seriously some of the best brisket I’ve ever had… and their NC mustard BBQ sauce? unreal. I would literally plan another trip to Brevard at least partially just because I know I could eat here again. Do not miss this.

Our first visit there, we split a burnt ends plate. The brisket was delicious, very juicy. The fries were seasoned and coated; very good! The cole slaw and pickles (house-made?) were fresh and mild, not salty; very tasty. I would definitely get it again!
