SOW is first and foremost a BBQ joint. We slow-smoke our meats with various fruit woods and maple wood in our smoker that sits right outside the restaurant. We pride ourselves in serving made-from-scratch food, including our own Challah bread used in our Drunken French Toast. We deliver to all downtown businesses and the marina. We are located next to Hoffman Park which overlooks the channel, come in and borrow a blanket for a picnic.

The food was delicious! My husband really loved the drunken French toast, and I loved my regular challah toast! The servers were friendly and helpful! There was a wait to dine (good things come to those that wait) as the dining room and outdoor seating are limited. This should be a must stop on your visit to Charlevoix!

If you are on a schedule, come back in November when they aren’t busy.

Amazing breakfast, worth waiting for! It was a beautiful late morning for sidewalk dining. My wife and I shared the lemon curd pancakes and brisket eggs Benedict. Both were excellent. Pancakes were large and rich, with hardly a need for syrup. The brisket was tender and served with some tasty BBQ sauce. Even the coffee was top notch. If I had more time in Charlevoix I would come back for a full BBQ meal.

I don’t like to complain, but this was absolutely unacceptable. We arrived for lunch at 11:25, waiting 20 mins to be seated. That was understandable for a Saturday. But after being seated , we waited until 12:50 for our lunch. With ordering 2 omelettes, and a side of bacon and side of links for the kids, why in the world would it take over an hour for that food. Once the food came it was not even cooked completely. My daughters links were pink and not cooked as well. The Waiter apologized and removed the omelette of the bill. But it was not worth the wait. Very disappointed.

Decided to drop in at around noon on a weekday while traveling up north. Were able to get seated immediately outside (great weather luckily).

The food was fine but I waited for at least 45 mins for a lunch for two. Eggs Benedict with hashbrowns for my husband and two sliders with kettle chips for me. Certainly not an order that should take nearly an hour. The restaurant appeared steady but not crazy busy. Had we been told about the wait in advance I would have understood a bit more but the lack of communication of the expected wait time was uncool. The servers were nice I guess but seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than serving. I was asked how my food was when I was on my last bite. Overall not super impressed.

A very popular place in the summer, so expect a wait. It’s definitely worth the wait though! Food was amazing and the house made bread was very good. I hope I can make it back soon to try more!
