Now THIS is a fantastic BBQ joint! I had the marbled brisket, pulled pork, collard greens , and the fries. Hubby got marbled brisket, spicy corn , fried okra, and turkey. The rolls were wack imo, but everything else is delicious! WOW! LOVE their pickles too! Service was good, one of the fellas even came out to make sure we we’re happy with everything, wasn’t expecting that. The place doesn’t look like much from the outside but don’t be fooled! So good, can’t wait to visit again.

Less than stellar food. The chicken skin was decent, but for a “smoke shack” I expected more smoke flavor on the turkey and chicken. The spicy cream corn was neither spicy nor cream. The brisket grilled cheese was dry and gross. Had to throw it away. The okra was ok. Even the fries were terrible. Don’t get the mac and cheese if you don’t eat pork. For a place featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. This was well below expectations. I would never come back.

Ironically, this had been our second choice, but should’ve been our first!

In town for work and wanted to try something new. Coworker found this place online with lots of great reviews. It did not disappoint.

Great food, awesome folks, MASSIVE portions (definitely get your money’s worth), good sweet tea, & southern hospitality vibe. Even Guy Fieri from Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives visited here. Oh, and the prices are the cheapest. You gotta go. You’ll thank me later, lol.

Man OH MAN!! I’ve been in San Antonio for several months now and this is my first BBQ experience. BY GOLLY was it AWESOME! They were patient, super personable and knowledgeable. I ordered 4 mini brisket tacos that melted in my mouth and had tons of delicious flavor SO what did I do…went back for 4 more tacos! I’m going to have dreams about this place. The ambience was like an adult playground, music was great, fans blowing everywhere and ample seating. I’ll definitely be back and bringing more folks with me!

My husband and I visited this place during lunch hour on a Wednesday. The place was busy, but there were enough tables available. We ordered the 3 meat plate that consisted of chicken, brisket, and ribs. The plate came with 2 sides, we ordered the potato salad, spicy cream corn, fried okra, and seasoned fries. The ribs had good flavor and good bark, but the meat wasn’t tender and didn’t fall off the bones. The brisket had a decent flavor, so did the chicken. I was not a fan of the potato salad and didn’t eat it. The spicy corn made up for the potato salad, but the seasoned fries were very dry, I also didn’t eat it. The fried okra lacked flavor.

Smoke Shack has very good Texas BBQ at reasonable prices. I took two buddies here and we really enjoyed the food. We all got the two meat plate. The Turkey and brisket were scrumptious. A nice touch is there offering of Topo Chico.
