Our little family stopped for a road trip lunch today after doing a search and seeing the Smoke Theory BBQ food photos. It was an amazing find and will be hard to top for the rest of our trip. My daughter and I had the brisket plate and my husband had the pulled pork. We’re all BBQ foodies so a bit hard to please but Smoke Theory BBQ more than pleased us all. My daughter said it was one of the best lunches she’s ever had in her life. The brisket had a great smoky flavor with the perfect melt in your mouth bark. We found a little bit of meat heaven on OR-22. It was a great experience and highly recommend stopping for a tasty meal – it’s worth the trip!

Let me start by saying, this is a great local business that I can tell really puts their hearts into what they do, and it shows in the flavor of the food. People really seem to love eating here, and I enjoyed myself too. I will say we had what was available and it was a little off. Their Mac is fantastic, as well as their other sides, but the brisket and pulled pork were a little off, with the pork being a bit dry and the brisket being a little soft compared to other briskets ive had. It’s a great location easy to find and good parking, great service and a opportunity to support local businesses.

Amazing!!! Traveling a lot of miles for work, I have too much experience with food trucks, but this one is now at the top of my list. Sad to say, I’ve driven by too often in a hurry and will now be planning future trips around this being the 1200 destination. The pork belly bites were better than any restaurant I’ve ever eaten them at. Melt in your mouth pulled-pork, great beans, and BBQ sauce that fills the bill. I highly recommend you put this on your list to visit as you go through the Santiam Canyon. Seating is a fair-weather event, but if it is dry, the tables are a nice break. (1/26 Tried the brisket today and now the addiction is complete!! Best place to stop in the canyon.)

My family and I went to check up on our former swim hole on the Little Santiam river, post the 2020 wildfires. It is still an inaccessible ruin, but this spot made the sobering trip 100% worth it. By far the best bbq I’ve ever had. And for such an affordable price! $16 for three thick juicy slices of perfectly smoked brisket and 2 sides is an unheard of price point in Portland. If you or your family find yourselves taking highway 20, south of Portland, this NEEDS to be a destination stop for you and yours!

Stopping here on my way home from work has become a fairly regular event. I’m primarily a Tri-tip fan (theirs is great) but tonight it was sold out. I decided to try their pulled pork sandwich and honest to God I didn’t know pork could taste that good. Not only was it good, it was phenomenal. If you don’t atleast try the pulled pork you’re truly doing a diservice to yourself. Wholesome family and excellent service.

I haven’t always been the biggest fan of BBQ, smoked meats, etc… HOWEVER… this place has become one of our favorites. We pick it up for dinner or just as a snack at least once a week. The tri-tip is my absolute favorite! But they also make bomb coleslaw and Mac and cheese! Thanks guys for the amazing food!
