First off this is not what I ordered. I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich with texas toast and as you can clearly see I didn’t receive what I paid for. The meat was bland and had no flavor to it. If you want Awesome BBQ than I recommend going to Texarkana to Naamans or to the Pit Room in Houston texas. This place is a joke on bbq

So, I saw some of the negative reviews and was hesitant, but this place is great. Ok, I used to live in Austin area and it is not Franklin’s great, but it is solid BBQ and half the price of some places. I have been a couple of times now and have enjoyed everything I have tried. Very smoky Brisket, sweet and savory Ribs, juicy and spicy jalapeno sausage and the half chicken was very juicy. As far as sides the regular potato salad is good but the jalapeno popper potato salad is awesome, sweet bbq beans and omg the green beans are great. Also they do have Cajun fries even though the menu doesn’t show it. BTW, the people working there are nice and place is clean so give it a try. It is also dog friendly on the nice little patio seating area as well, so bring Fido along if you want.

We were traveling from Texas to Mississippi and randomly stoped here. Darius was the first person we met and the was so nice and accommodating! Then I met the guy smoking the ribs, and he was just as great! Their ribs are some of the best bbq I have had. I will stop here next time I make this drive!

Good bbq spot. It is inside of a gas station but it is very roomy and the food came out very fast. I had a two meat plate brisket and chicken. The portions are good size for the price. The side dishes who were definitely the star of the meal the baked beans and the jalapeno potato salad were outstanding. The brisket seemed very tender but for some reason was not very juicy it was a little on the dry side but was full of flavor I think they may have cut it too thick if it was cut thinner maybe it would not have had that hint of dryness. The chicken was also good had a good smoked flavor and the skin was very tasty the meat was also tender but not as juicy as I would have liked. Overall I was satisfied I would give it a 7 out of 10.

Had an excellent and quick lunch (beef brisket BBQ sandwich and BBQ beans) after a mid-morning hike in the nearby Kisatchie National Forest just north of town. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor patio seating.
