We’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally stopped in.

We came for breakfast. I read a review about the bacon being fantastic. So I thought it would be a great restaurant to try. The bacon was dry and didn’t have a lot of flavor except for salt. My husband said the sausage didn’t taste like sausage. Which was an odd thing to say. Not sure they know how to make biscuits. As you can see from the picture. It came in 2 pieces. It was not cut in half. It was actually 2 different pieces they did not match up. I thought I would have gravy on my plate for the biscuit. As you can see by the picture it wasn’t covered. The fried steak was hard and over cooked. It needed more gravy to cover the over cooked part. The potatoes were great. I will come back. Just so I can try other food on the menu.

Lunch was delicious and the service was wonderful! You can tell the owner really cares about his business and his customers. He came out and talked to us and gave us recommendations. The food came out quick and the prices were very reasonable.

Wow. Very disappointing. The food was horrible. The meat wasn’t real beef and the potatoes tasted like they were defrosted in the microwave. The soda was flat. The corn beef hash barely had any corn beef in it. The pancakes were very good. Way overpriced for this food. The environment was bland and could use a spruce up. The workers were very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, this will be my one and only time coming in.

Listed a 4 bedroom rental in Smyrna today and stopped in at the Smyrna Cafe for lunch. My husband Robert N. Hoff had an excellent Jambalaya with a good spicy flavor. I had Nashville Hot chicken tender salad. Good burn delicious flavor. Great hidden jewel.

The food, people, and culture was stellar. They do their best to make sure you are satisfied and truly love what they do. I’d recommend Smyrna to anyone that wants an easy feel, and good with people that care and want to be at work.

We were heading from Nashville to Lynchburg for a Jack Daniel’s tour and needed a hearty breakfast to set us up for the day. Smyrna Cafe looked like a great option on route, plenty of free parking and just off the I-24. We arrived just before 8am and were seated as they were opening. This family run diner hit the spot. I had the chicken (hot version) and waffles which was excellent. The waffle was so light and fluffy, combined with the spicy chicken breast and lashings of help yourself maple syrup. My 3 dining companions had blueberry pancakes, pancakes with bacon on the side and country fried steak. Our coffees & iced tea were topped up during the service. As we finished the chef / owner came over to chat with us – what a lovely guy, I just wish he’d given us his name so we could mention it. 5* review for the food and chef, 4* overall review for the premises – don’t judge this diner from the outside!

We went for brunch the day after seeing the Eras tour! We had a group of 6 and were seated right away. The menu had great options and because it was around brunch time, some of us ordered breakfast foods and some ordered lunch. At the table we shared mozzarella sticks, fries, chicken tenders and the best Mac-n-cheese ever! The owner recommended it and we are so happy we took him up on the order suggestion, if you eat here- it’s a must!
