I grew up in the south and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was! I had the BBQ ribs and the greens, if I closed my eyes I would swear I was in South Carolina once again! The head chef (Rock) had the southern manners and pleasant attitude I miss from the south (even though he’s from Ohio) So glad I chose So Southern to have my lunch!

This place made me feel like I was at a sit down restaurant, So Southern is not just mall food this is the type of food that your momma cooked. Everything down to the cornbread dressing, Yams, Mac & cheese, And the meaty ribs was just so delicious Everything was hot and fresh as well. If you ever get a chance to stop by the food court this is the place to try you won’t be disappointed.

I visited beachwood mall on a field trip for work. They were giving out samples, so I tried the yams and dressing. Dressing was really good and flavorful It was so delicious, I was pleasantly surprised. I can’t wait to return without my clients so I can buy more to taste.

The chicken was so dry I almost choked. The macaroni and cheese was swimming in butter/grease. I even asked the worker to tell me their best side dish. I was very disappointed with the food. I wanted support a black business, but I should have stuck with what I knew. I was at Beachwood mall on Saturday December 11. It was early so the food should have been fresh and it wasn’t!

My friend recommended this place because I loooooove me some soul food baby. However, I was majorly disappointed. Keeping in mind the food is pre-prepared similar to a QSR, I had to keep my expectations in check. But at the very least it could have been made from scratch. The mac and cheese is not made from scratch like I was expecting (I know stouffers when I taste it) and the chicken grease was not fresh (you can tell by taste and black specks on the chicken). The quality of the food could just be better. I’m rooting for this place because its one of two black food spots in the mall.

I ordered three chicken tender snack meals and got home a realized one was missing. My son couldn’t eat the fries because they were to hard. We didn’t eat our chicken because it was too hard and dried out to eat. The greens weren’t seasoned at all. I went to support but this was not worth the money my husband and I spent

I had the fish, shrimp, wings with Fry’s. All the food is already cooked and put in a warming oven. All the food was barely warm, not crispy at all and did not have a good flavor. I have had better food at a gas station. This place will be closed in a year or less.
