Love That Spice
From the moment we walked in we were greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. The bulgogi was excellent, nicely spiced and flavorful. The fried rice complimented the bulgogi wonderfully. The ramen noodles extra spicy were so good as I watched my 8 year old daughter devour almost the entire bowl! If you’re looking for a solid and tasty family owned restaurant this is it! Oh be sure to try the Jacob’s tear tea…perfect ending to a delicious lunch✨

First time at Soban, but many many Korean restaurants around the entire Chicago area. My standard first time item is (yuk guy Jeng) Yukgaejang, which is a spicy soup with shredded beef, green onions and green bean sprouts with glass noodles. It is hot and spicy, and it helps me determine if the food is authentic. My wife always eats the Dolsot Bibimbap, rice crispy in a stone bowl and cooked veggies and a fried egg, and a selection of different meats, shrimp, tofu, etc.

Stone pot kept the soon dubu jigae warm through the meal + great tofu. Tteokbokki was a little on the sweeter side, but still really good (better with some rice). Highlight of the meal was the budae jigae! Wish the portion was slightly bigger, though.

This is the worst Korean restaurant in Chicago area. The pot was so small, and the soup is too spicy… it does not fit the price. and why give me a red pen for signature????? One star for this restaurant.

Excellent food and service! Reasonable prices. Small mandu was tasty, soups were great too. When visiting Chicago I’ll definitely make this my go-to for Korean food.

We visited this place recently. My mom loved KDrama. The best part of the shows is the food lol her words not mine. So we started with kimchi pancake. She got pork bulgogi and I got the tteokbokki. Both dishes were the perfect combo of sweet and spicy. Definitely didn’t lack flavor we ate it all. Drinks were just green tea and tears job tea this one is so good is creamy nutty and sweet. We saw that they have cold noodles and we going back in summer to try those. Service is simple but very kind and is bit dark in there but I go to eat and not to take selfies. I say try it and enjoy it great place to enjoy home korean cooking.
