We liked this place. I got chicken fried chicken (small). It was absolutely delicious. Seasoned so well without being overdone. The ranch was good as well. It tasted like it’s a sour cream based recipe. It had a really nice taste regardless of what it is made with. My husband got the hamburger steak, and he loved it. He said it was cooked perfectly. Our server was friendly, professional, and great at her job. The prices were good as well. We got a lot of food, 2 orders of hush puppies, and a soda for under $30! We will be back soon, for sure.

I’ve heard about this place for years only b/c three of my younger in-laws are former Aggies. This place used to be a regular hangout for them. So on a recent Saturday we decided to gather the whole group, drive 90 minutes from the Georgetown area and have a couple of birthday celebrations in Snook at the renowned Sodolak’s Steakhouse, or Original Country Inn.

Fantastic! This is the second time I have made a stop here and still just as tasty and friendly as the first time. A casual seat your self dining, that serves the best chicken fried bacon ever! Located in Snook, TX just a few minutes from College Station. Their chicken fried steak and cheeseburgers are pretty good too! Everyone is super friendly and you are treated like a local here. Not to mention the cool décor of Fire and Rescue team shirts that adorn the walls. Whenever I am in College Station, this is a must stop!

Excellent place to have lunch or dinner in a quieter part of Texas. The portion sizes of the steaks are gargantuan, even the “small” ones! Friendly staff and laid back atmosphere makes this place an easy choice to visit over and over again. If you’re feeling like really bulking up for the winter go ahead and get the country fried bacon with gravy too.

Excellent food entire menu. Extremely clean facility. Awesome down home friendly staff. I love entire menu- but really like the Chicken Fried Steak, Chops, & Texas Sized Steaks ect. All cooked to perfection. But I especially enjoy the “Chicken Fried Bacon”. Wow!! Great friend & generous supporter of the community. One of my TOP-3 favorite restaurants depending on my taste/cravings. (Usually my number one!!)

This restaurant lived up to every bit of the reputation and history. It has been mentioned on different food shows over the years. The food was outstanding made from scratch and came out fast and hot. The staff were all warm & welcoming with great customer service. The chicken fried steak was spot on and very filling. To begin the meal started off with there signature Chicken Fried Bacon which hands down was the best i have ever had and the cream gravy to dip it in was perfect as well. I definitely will be back for years to come and can’t wait to have a steak on the next trip which are highly recommended. This is a definite no brainer restaurant that all foodies must hit when passing through the College Station Texas area to nock off your bucket list.
