it was very busy when we arrived, but our seat was ready within 20 minutes. the host could’ve been a bit nicer, but it’s okay. the food was okay, but the bread was a bit too sweet for my liking, other than the bread being sweet, it was an okay sandwich. my husband got a torta and his was pretty good. the fries are good as well. the chips and salsa are amazing! since it was a busy night, I can give the server a pass for not being super attentive. the cook(s) also forgot to put bacon on my sandwich, but I was able to get it taken off my bill since I never received the bacon.

The food is good, but not the best I’ve ever had. At their prices, you would expect the best. The service has often been lacking as well. We asked a couple of questions and the server had no idea and made little attempt to assist. It’s located in a nice area. The restaurant is clean and large enough that you don’t often have to wait. My wife really likes it for the atmosphere. Not exactly #BobbySizedPortions but plenty for her.

This place is a ripoff. The lunch menu offers a choice of sauce with each entree, so we ordered cheese dip on our chimichanga (which it’s supposed to have in the first place), but the server charged us $4 for it.. Didn’t see the extra charge until after we left, but we def won’t be back. Food was boring and mediocre with the cost to portion ratio way off. Save your money and eat at any other Mexican restaurant around town. They’re all better than this garbage.

I recently came with a large group from work. The food was good. The problem was the waitstaff acted extremely inconvenienced by our large party. I called almost a month ago to let them know we’d be coming then again the week before we came. When we got there, we were seated at two tables. When we asked to combine them, we were told we couldn’t. Then when we asked about the checks, the waitress told us, rather rudely, that we’d been made aware of the rules regarding splitting checks (they give one check for large parties and it can only be split three ways). We were put at two tables that couldn’t be combined, but they had no problem combining everyone’s checks. As someone who has waited tables, this made no sense to me why we couldn’t have just each gotten our own checks. By the time we closed our tab, the restaurant was essentially empty. I like Sombra and have enjoyed eating there, but I think they need to revisit their hospitality with large parties.
