We went to visit this restaurant while on a weekend getaway. Everyone had bragged to us about how good it was and they were not lying… this restaurant had great food, amazing energy and the best service! We were there on a Friday, they had live music. As far as the food goes, the collared greens were my favorite and I asked if I could take the whole pot home. The rest of the food was great as well. Highly recommended!

I dunno what these fried oysters are doing here. They belong in front of heads of state, UN diplomats, celebrities, people from the West Coast who claim to know what good seafood is, your extended family members who claim to not know anything about the East Coast food other than clam chowder, people who say oysters are gross and need to be taught a lesson, and literally anyone who is not allergic to oysters. They are the pride of the Rappahannock River. They are the quintessential blend of East Coast and Southern cuisine. They deserve a James Beard award. They should be casually mentioned on the next season of The Bear. Some Michelin-starred chef needs to fly in here on a helicopter and take extensive notes.

I ordered the pork belly bites as an appetizer and they were phenomenal. The pickled onions went well with it. I also ordered the choose 2 meats dish and I chose brisket and tomato based bbq with fried and Mac and cheese. The brisket and bbq were both quite dry. I received 3 peices of brisket and 1 was nice the other 2 were quite dry. The bbq was good especially after putting some bbq sauce and hot sauce on it. The fries were fantastic and it was the best Mac and cheese from a restaurant I’d had in a long time.
