Took the family on a whim and this place knocked it out of the park. My son and wife asked for another round. Super simple concept, GREAT beef, good waffle fries, and huge onion rings. Fast service, friendly staff, and fun atmosphere. Loved the outdoor patio, but the weather was nice today, so hot days may be tougher. My daughter had the red velvet shake with cake bits, sprinkles, chocolate chips, and whipped cream… She was smitten, I’ve never seen her down a shake like that. My favorite is the Irishman, my wife’s is the PB&J, and the kids are classics all the way. Cheers to another great place to stop in and eat.

I’m not easily surprised. Usually when I find a new place in DFW it rarely matches up in reality to my expectation. However, Son of a Butcher was a pleasant irregularity to that experience. As I first approached the building it was themed beautifully. The door handle is made from a large cleaver and the inside shows a sign above the counter fit to sit itself within the 1950s drive-in. The food choices were highly varied and everything that I sampled upon my visit was an education in impeccable workmanship and pride to one’s craft. I had the pleasure of getting two sliders and a vanilla milkshake. I got the Irishman and the midsummer slider. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a better slider or a better burger in my life. It was overall phenomenal the range and bouquet of flavor and the presentation. The loving care put into the creation of the sliders is a testament to a kitchen that loves its work. If you’ve been on the fence about this place or even considering it at all, or maybe you just came across this review. I urge you do not delay. Go try some of these wonderful wonderful sliders for yourselves. The Texas waygu beef was on point and the environment would be a wonderful setting for a date night or lunch with friends.

Checked this place out the night before their Grand Opening event. It was great, it will be even better after the staff gets fully trained and up to speed on the menu items and processes.

These sliders are amazing! I got an Irishman and a Cowboy. Both delicious! Cooked PERFECT medium rare. Yum! I could have definitely just had one, especially with onion rings. So good! It a little loud in the dining room for me but the music is a little quieter outside.

Burgers over cooked, dried out, and a bit saltly. They say medium to medium rare. Horrible! Onion rings were great..fries over cooked. No kids menu.

The flavor of everything we tried was FANTASTIC! The shakes actually taste as advertised. Red Velvet gives all the delicious Red Velvet and Cream Cheese Icing flavors, and Cookie Butter delivers on all that Biscoff goodness!

These sliders are fantastic! I had the Nashville Hot chicken slider and the Popper, both very delicious. The onions in the onion rings are a bit too large, in my opinion, and the waffle fries seem like they were frozen. But I’ll be back to try more sliders, and a shake next time!

Love the atmosphere and location! Excited to enjoy the patio in the cooler weather but the giant fans made it nice at night. We had the burnt ends burger and Nashville hot slider. Both very delicious! The strawberry lemonade is super refreshing!
